What will be done to satisfy our desire?  Are we willing to throw away what matters for that which only glimmers in a store front window?  Men gather to themselves every possible “beauty”, only to find that the next day brings some more “glimmering”.

Settle your soul, mind, heart, and body.  Seek the things which are not tarnished by oxygen.  Look for the things that can’t be stolen or abused by others.  Grab hold of God’s promises and leading.  He will never disappoint you, for He cannot lie.   And it is His desire to lead all men into a relationship with Him.

You might not recognize it, but this is a pleading for a reality check.

Bent Needle and Toilet Paper.

I find it interesting that I have memories of when I was 6 or 7 years young.  They aren’t many.  But there are a few.  And they would not be the memories you might expect from a convulsive up bringing.  They are memories of a class room.  Or perhaps more than one class room.  One is a substitute teacher.  A man who had been a Marine.  He told us of how the Marines had tried to inject him with preventive medicines and how the needle bent when it was applied to his skin.  Why he determined that knowledge was fit for such young people is beyond me.  But the memory stuck.  Another is of a woman who told the class how to wipe our butts.  Again, why she thought that would really get us a job when we turned 18 is beyond me.  But look at how their interaction with children left an impression.  I’m entering my 58th year of life now.  And they remain in my head.

What have I done to children?  What am I doing now that is leaving a similarly foolish mark?  Do I really want to appear before the Lord God Almighty and explain why I thought that kind of foolishness needed to be spread?  No.  Not really.

P. S. You will note there are no related articles for this post.  Hmmmmm wonder why?

GLORIOUS COLORS

Ah, the wild imagination of man without God.  That he calls what IS as though it were not.

Ah, the Glorious strength of God.  That He calls what is not as though it IS.

Bend the knee and worship He who redeems the wicked!
