Eternity is singular

By its very definition eternity has no end.  Eternity also has no beginning.  In order for eternity to exist everything about it must be singular.

Where then is the will of man?

Even So, Come.

They were grinding wheat to make the bread.  They were herding a flock of sheep and having a pleasant conversation between them.

They had gathered to cook a feast for their families.  They were in Macy’s shopping for a prom dress.  He was driving to the office, talking on the cell phone to his friend.

They had just cut the cake at a birthday party for their 3 year old son.  A man was just standing up after beating another to death.  She was just opening her car door after the accident.  He lay sleeping after a drunken binge with friends.

Fill in the blank.  Think of moments in time when activity consumes us.

At that moment The Holy Father gave the order to His Son to “Go.  It is time”.  Without the slightest hesitation, Jesus moved faster than light.

No thought or respect for what men, women or children were doing.  No regard for their plans.  No consideration for families.   Not the slightest care about the things that men care about.  Jesus obeyed The Holy Father.

Like a crushing rock the Grace offered was removed from the world.  The Holy Spirit no longer restrained the conscience of man.  And hell broke loose on earth.

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.”

Even so, Lord Jesus, come.

An invitation to perform

What if you were invited to the Holy Throne of the Most High God today?   He sends a Holy angel to come and carry you to Him.  What gift should you take?  It is unwise to appear before Him empty handed.

Why not take your most prized possession?  It is not possible to fool the Lord.  So I suggest your choice be honest.

For most men, they will appear before Him bearing they’re most hideous sin.  It is their most prized possession.  Perhaps they will perform it for God in his holy Throne Room.

Do you think that is to vulgar a concept?   Does the thought  of performing your sin before God make you ill?  Have you never heard the scripture, “In Him we live and move and have are being.”

Behold you have met someone on the street.

“If you take me home with you and give me a place to live I will take care of you.”

It is socially acceptable to take this one home.  In fact it is a badge of honor.  So home with you, you did take him.

Prepare him a room.  Make the bed soft and comfortable.  Entertain him at breakfast.  Set two plates for lunch, for you will need them.   prepare for a protracted dinner for he loves to talk of his homeland.

Do you find you love his company?  Or has this invitation to reside become a stench?  You have asked what his name is.  He is the Holy Word of God. Affectionately nicknamed the Bible.

Far too many have taken him home and chained him up like a dog in the backyard.

Reward or Compensation

Who do you perceive the Lord Jesus to be?  Do you perceive him to be beautiful?  How beautiful do you perceive him to be?  The questions matter because as we aspire to be like him, our perception of his beauty matters.

Who we aspire to become similar to determines our potential.  The Lord Jesus is endlessly beautiful.  To what portion of that endless beauty do you aspire?

Gods willingness to give is not the reason for our stunted growth.   The reason we thrash around as helpless babes is because we are not willing to receive.  The question before our face day and night is this:  Is the Lord more beautiful than the enticements of the flesh?

Sovereign God

Have you ever given much thought to the title “Sovereign God”?   It is a simple two word title.  But it is absolutely impossible that it should belong to more than one.

This title belongs to the One who needs nothing from anything or anyone else.  But in the case of the living God, who owns this title, He willingly shares with others.

He is do all respect, all glory, all on honor and all worship.  And when our hearts are in order we find a mystery of mysteries comes up on us.  We become an integral part of the Sovereign God.  It is written, “God is One”.  Everything that belongs to God becomes God.

How then should unrighteousness be allowed to live among God’s people?  Consider this with sobriety.
