No Excuses

As much as man is capable of excellence in sin, he is also capable of excellent obedience in Christ Jesus.

Ever ready to rebel in his natural state, the God borne transformation lasts forever.

The excuse that we are only human, is like a boneless chicken; it just won’t fly very far.

Silly Little Quibbling Lips

There is a frantic quibbling among frantic men.  Busy little lips accuse God of murder.

They cite the examples of Israel entering the promised land.  And oh how upset they are, that the peaceful little groups who lived there were viciously torn down.

And now they blame Israel.  “She has no right to exist, nor to defend herself!  She is a bloody blight to the human plight!

And now they blame God.  “He’s the one that put two trees in the garden!  He is the one who was first to shed blood!  He is the one who did not protect Able!  How dare he blame us for murder!

My silly friends of flesh.

How is it that you never look up?

You see the sky up there?

Go ahead,
Tear down the air.

But you complain to one
another with a lofty stare.

When the body is rent,

Where goes the soul?

If you know these things,

Speckle the sky!

When you do these things,

I’ll grant you applause.

Then I’ll say there is
Wisdom in your eye.

From Pauper to Royalty

I did not know how to serve a king,

Especially One with such Great Pedigree.

I did what I pleased, because I was free,

Regardless the cost to me.

I told the One so.
But He offered me Life,

Saying, “If only you listen to Me.

I’ll teach you the way
To become my dear wife.

Forever in peace you will be”.

And now I know how
To render Him King.

No mystery to me anymore.

No longer desiring
That I should be free,

But to serve Him
With knees on the floor.

Promise

Encased in forced waiting
The leaves crouch for spring.

Those curious buds from a stick.

What was rendered by autumn,
The end of the harvest,

Will blossom about, oh so thick!

Encased in forced waiting
Saved souls crouch for spring.

Those curious men like sticks.

What was rendered by autumn,
The end of the harvest,

Will blossom about, oh so thick!

The Bitter Taste of Righteous Words

I read some of my posts and I am astonished at their content.  More than that, I am astonishing to see how many follow this blog.

I do not have a tendency to speak softly.  And the audience to which I continually speak is important to note.

image

I rarely speak to the righteous, except to encourage true faith.  For I had not lived as one of you for the majority of my life.  Other than the truth of Christ, I have no counsel for those who have warred in the trenches all their days.

But I speak to those from whom I came.  I know their language and their doings, for I was one of them.  I speak to the wicked and the vulgar, the thieves, the liars, the murderers of soul and heart, for this is what I was.

I have come to despise the man I was.  Therefore I despise the ways of those I lived among.  But despising a man’s ways does not mean I despise the man.  Rather, because of Christ Jesus, I love them enough to risk their hatred.  And I trust the power of God within me to stand boldly!

Lustful Hearts

What is the nature of he who visits the prostitute?  Is this he who would pay his money, or anything else, to see the intimate nature of another human being?   And must this nature only belong to a man?  Shall it not also belong to a woman?

Look around you.  Where do you live?  If you are a television watcher, do you consider the intimate nature of the people they display to you?

You pay with your soul and mind, for things you should not see.  Women allow themselves to lust for men who are not their husband.  And men take great pleasure in the display of every woman who is not their wife.

Define wickedness correctly!  For we will all be held accountable for how we define the word beautiful.
