“Ok”

When God says, “Do this”, we say, “OK”.

God considers His command to be eternal and binding.  Our “ok” means, “We will think about it”.

Notice any problems here?

COME!

Come, thou Holy One of God!

Though the masses go about in darkness.

Though violence fills our minds and streets.

Though filthy tongues prattle  all day long.

Though everything that is wicked is raised as king.

Though hatred for your Holy Ways fills the air like a plague of gnats.

Though your Holy and Righteous Son is despised among all things.

Split the air with the sound of your perfect Horn.  Descend and gather those things that are yours Holy Father.

Let the ungodly remain ungodly.  Let he who does wickedness continue to do wickedness.  Let he who loves lies become his desire.  Let the darkness not perceive.

Even so, Holy Lord, come!

Blazing Beauty

Peace is found when a man understands that the warnings of God are lovely.  Chaos, turmoil, double-mindedness, and the like, abound in the peaceful conversations of men.

The conversations Man loves are rarely acceptable before the Holy Throne of the Most High God.  Godly conversations among ungodly men, are as rare  as a humming bird who loves to fly upside down.

Do not bless where God has not blessed.  Do not welcome what God has driven from his throne.  Rather be a blazing light to a people who live in utter darkness.

Speak the truth in “The Holy Love”.  Draw a boundary between what is godly and what is not.  Do not be like those from whom you are being taken.  Rather become like He who draws you out.

“Well, He Did it!”

We live in a world of compromise.  Is that how God’s people should live?

Go ask Ananias and Sapphira.  If you don’t know who these two are, go look it up.

Go ask Achan son of Karmi.
Go ask Cain.
Go ask the Apostle Peter, as he separated himself from the Gentiles.
Go ask Demas.
Ask Jim Bakker.
Ask Jimmy Swaggart.

Billions of people live the life of compromise, and they pay an enormous price.  Billions more have led an equally compromised life, but they were never caught; they lived just inside the rules of social legitimacy.  But even while they have lived, their reward waits for them.

I can force no one to live a pure life in Christ.  But I can certainly warn about the cost of compromise.

Waddledoo

Waddledoo, Waddledoo,
With that ragged old conscience of his?

Waddledoo, Waddledoo,
When the choices to make are all his.

Wadidedoo, Wadidedoo?
Was the epitaph written in stone.

Wadedondid, Wadedondid,
Was to leave the good choices alone.

No “Second” Chance

2,365,200,000
That’s so many seconds you can live if you live to be 75 years old.

Refusing eternal life from Jesus makes everyone of them worthless.
