The mightiest of tidal waves. The greatest crash of destruction ever in ETERNITY, the dust of failing- desiring to cover everything. The tumult of violence reaching with all its might toward the threshold of God’s Holy throne!

Every violent thing, held in check by the will of God; “This far you shall come and no more!”

“This is my Righteous Son you have desired. At his feet is your boundary. Here, you are subdued! At the folds of his garment you shall not pass. And those who take refuge within are beyond your reach.

“This I have spoken. Says the Lord God Almighty. My will is to be done.”

Lovely! Lovely! Lovely!

I have never found a Music more lovely than a sad song. It’s not the lyrics they use, it’s the melody that accompanies it. When the soul cries through Music it is exquisitely melodic.

What melody accompanied the crucifixion of Christ? The fullness of God’s will in all eternity. Death trying to consume heaven.

Man’s ears are not made to hear it. Even the soul cannot taste it’s fullness. It is the song of God’s victory over unspeakable sorrow.

Safety Is

Written on the ocean on March 2, 2017. But ever so eternally poignant.

The waves beat against the hull of the ship.

With a silent and determined anger;

With gluttony for autonomy,

They desire “unimpeded”.

See how the steel says, “No”.

See how they are forced to go,

Dissipated.

How the strength of their ruin is utterly devastated.

How, with present Will

pressed against them,

they turn to white frothing.

At the majesty they encounter;

They turn to –

Mere nothing.

Like they do as the wind whips them up,

in small measure

The sea is dotted with purity.

Yet:

With impassable Will

All is turned back.

“You will not pass.

I cannot relent.

I move through your midst,

My strength never spent.”

Be still!

Cease your work!

Bow to Me!

My people will pass

Speaks The Maker He.

Move Holy Spirit.

Move through my soul.

Be the ship that carries

The desire of Your own will.

As it has been from old.

Be in me the strength of your love.

Keep me on the

“Inward side.”

WAR!

With agreement of purpose they came to the place chosen by the Most High God. “Here The Confrontation will begin.”

So it began; Jesus said to them, “Whom do you seek”. They were compelled to state their purpose: “Jesus of Nazareth”.

Do you want to see the power of God? Look at what the demon filled people did at the Lord’s response: “I Am He”, Jesus said. At that the mob drew back and fell to the ground.

Demon filled?  Do not forget, when Judas left the dinner he left under the command of satan who was in him.  The ruler of the kingdom of air against the ruler of all eternity.  Yes, the minion was present in that garden.

The people themselves were unsure of why they had come, they were simply following a nondescript order, “Bring in Jesus of Nazareth”. But the demons in them knew they had come for a singular purpose. They had come to murder the Word of God.

When they fell away from God at first, they murdered the Word within them. Now they come as if to complete their wickedness.  They came to complete their challenge to the Majesty of the Living God.

It has been said that the people drew back for fear of the destruction that would surely come to one who blasphemes the Holy Name of God.  But I know I can say with confidence; their appearance in that place at that time was most conspicuous.

A physical manifestation of reality.  A fight to the death.  The drawing back shows the dawning of sobriety, the realization of why they had come.  It was the beginning of culmination for the desire of God’s enemy. “Force the Son of God to recant his position.”  God willing met them in that place!

In the passage, we are not looking at religious men gone crazy with a lust for blood. We are looking at the beginning of the greatest possible conflict in all eternity.

Christ is LORD!

“Ya Da!”

Today’s media is on a reporting frenzy. Every time there is a good deed done, they make a magnificent banner and announce it to the whole world. The people say they are inspired. And more good deeds are sought. Now a celebrity circus comes to town. Who will be next to be bathed in the spotlight of “Good”?

Take a note of this: did anyone hear a trumpet blast from heaven as the leaves sprouted on the trees of winter? On the birth of every child, does anyone hear angels sing a magnificent chorus from heaven? Is any good deed from God heralded like a man heralds his own good deeds?

Yet God alone is purely good, continuous, eternally, majestically. Does anyone see a difference here? Or is it just me?

When we are done doing what good we do, let everyman say, “I have only done what I should”. If you will be like Jesus, reject accolades.

1“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

The Orientation of “Valuable”

365 days in a year. 365 years. I haven’t even quite made it to 65 yet. But Enoch, the seventh from Adam, lived 365 years before he walked with God and was seen no more for God took him.

Can you close your eyes and imagine living 365 years in this place?

Without God, I know for a fact I would despise my life in short order. But with the Lord to comfort me, guide me, teach me, and make me useful, it doesn’t matter how long I live where.

Let us rethink “valuable”.
