The Perfect Family

Do you remember how you obeyed your parents?  Have you seen how your children obey you now?  Do you remember how rebellion lived inside you like a hungry lion?  Can you hear your children roar now?

Yet your parents loved you.  Regardless your children’s faults you love them.

How much joy and love would have been shared if you had been a fully obedient child?  What a magnificent family you would have if your children were willingly obedient.  How much more adoration between you?

Did your parents know exactly what to do and when, every single day?  Do you make mistakes in raising your child now?  What if your parents had been faultless people?  What if you were a perfect parent today?   What an incredibly strong bond there would be between child and parent.

Have you considered how the Father in Heaven loves his Holy Son Jesus?  Both of them faultless for eternity.  Both of them, the essence of love.  Both of them perfectly wise.  The Father agreeing with the Son.  And the Son agreeing with the Father.

If you can sense the strength of love in a perfect family, you could multiply that times 10 billion and never come close to the love the Father has for the Son.

God told his Son to go teach his rebellious people and die at their rebellious hands on a cross.  The Son agreed and accomplished his Father’s will.  How precious to God the Father has Jesus the Holy Son of God become?  Causing a division between them is absolutely impossible.

He who has the Father has the Son.  He who has the Son has the Father.  They are identical in their mercy.  They are inseparable in righteousness.  Between them judgment is unanimous.  If power in God was forever, it is doubly so now.

Thinking of Jesus in any other terms is forbidden by the Holy throne of the Most High God.  Those who reject the Son, reject the Father also.  Those who do not obey or glorify Jesus, do not obey or glorify the Father either.  It is eternally impossible to have one without the other.

The Spirit of God is able to teach us this same obedience.  How much love does the Father have for those who obey and love his Son?  Let us make every effort to join them in their perfect family.

The Way it is

The gravel lays where it is placed and is forced to be ground to powder.  Once a majestic singular mountain, it is now but blowing dust in the open space.  Dust that is now forced to mingle and no longer be singular.

Raindrops fall by orders from creation.  They take their place together to create a body of water that was not before.  What was taken away is giving back.  A brief independence is forced to reunite.

Tree roots split dirt and rock to produce obedient fruit.  In its proper time the fruit appears and does not fade until ordered to fall.  With a crash the limbs shatter on the ground.  What was once tall and magnificently beautiful becomes rot for the growth others.

Three specimens to show God’s will dictated.  He alone is life, there is no life apart from him.  Yet what shall be said of man?

His body follows the dictates of God: to grow, to do, and to die.  But man is not faithful, as all creation endures.  He contrives means of rebellion.

How many ponder these things as they sit in open places?  How many allow themselves to be struck by the nature of sin?  And how many of those will fall on their face and beg for mercy?

Salvation belongs to our God and to the lamb.  What errant creature is able to save himself?

For now, but then

For now we suffer a little.  How shall our suffering compare to that of Christ?  Where is our righteousness that the nails should pierce so sharply, releasing Holy blood?

For now we live in confusion.  But how does that compare to, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”  how should we say our questioning is just?

For now we look to die.  But how does our death compare to that which was foretold; Not a bone will be broken.  He will make no complaint as he is led to slaughter.  And, to rise into immortality in three days?

We worship the Son of God for he is a utterly unlike us.  His faithfulness to the Holy Father is without fault.   Our righteousness is by faith alone.  But the righteousness of the Son of Man has been from the beginning, unblemished.

For now we have nothing to offer that belongs to us.  Every good thing we have is given from above, full of Mercy and Grace.  How shall that compare to the sacrifice of our Lord?  He has given that which has belonged to him from eternity, and that for the sake of his enemy.

For now we see as through a glass darkly.  But then we will know fully and be perfected by the strength that is Jesus, the Christ of God and our Lord.

Let us free ourselves from all that is unrighteous.  For now, let us worship Him in all that is true that he may then receive what is rightfully his.  Let us renew an earnest heart, for the sake of our appearing before Him.

By His Holy promise we shall be perfected.  Even though, for now, we stumble about as blind men in a freshly plowed field.  We trust, and rightly so.  For Christ Jesus has earned the right to sit as King of Kings!

Above it all

Twelve disciples, a little fishing boat, a raging sea, and a Lord who is above it all.

No one has ever witnessed such a thing before.  Not only did the Lord walk on top of the sea, he walked on top of a raging sea!  It happily resided in his heart to show his disciples something from heaven.

The disciples of Christ, a boat of grace, a ragng sea of wicked men, and the Lord is above it all.  Who could guess?  Even angels longed to look into these things.

The people of God, tiny piece of wood in the shape of a cross, a raging torrent of holy law, and the Lord Jesus who is above it all!

How could this be?  He was crucified by those who kept the treasury of law.  Dressed in blood among a murderer and a thief.  The righteousness of God murdered as a law breaker.  For this reason Jesus is above it all.

22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”  (Matthew chapter 14)

The Bright and Morning Star

“Praise the Lord, for He is good!  His Mercy endures forever.

Who is His Mercy?  Jesus the Christ is the Mercy of God.

For by Him we live and move and have our being in the Heavenly Father.

By Him we have strength.  By Him we are bold.

By Him we sing a new song; a song of great strength and hope.

By Him we have warmth; the warmth of the Bright and Morning Star.

By Him we are fed with food which does not come from this world.

By Him we thrive as we were intended to thrive.”

So sings the vibrant Robin in the morning.

Let man consider the faithful and unashamed song of the Robin.

He wakes to hunt.  He wakes to proclaim the faithfulness of the Most High God in the Lord Jesus.

He wakes, and opens his mouth to sing praises for the Life he Lives.

Yes, let us consider the purity of the Robin’s song.

Thank You Lord!

I thank you Lord:

Because I was destined to burn with destruction.  But You told me this was so.

Because I became consumed with my plight.  But You showed me a way out.

Because I couldn’t muster strength to endure Your presence.  But Your love and mercy were so very sweet.

Because I faltered and stumbled, bringing alarm to my soul.  But You gave me tears of repentance.

Because I could not perceive Your forgiveness.  But You cleansed my conscience.

Because I ran about with Great concern for the sins I had held dear.  But You teach me The Better Way.

Thank You Lord God Almighty!  Your Mercy and Wisdom excel!  Thank You, Jesus, for Your hand is powerful enough to save.

By His Grace.
