In God We Trust

“In God we trust.” I know what that means. You know what that means. Our minds understand the definition. But our lives will prove something greatly less.

In the history of Man, only Jesus could say it fully; “In God I trust”. Everyone else holds something in reserve to themselves.

It is because of our living definition (the proof of our choices) that we find so much tragedy in this world. Every single place we reserve the right for judgment, wisdom, righteousness, and doings, we add to the chaos of this world. Everyplace we deny him the right to be our God, we frustrate his desire.

You want a New Year’s resolution? Improve your intent to trust God. Strive to let Jesus be your master more and more this year.

It was said that when Jesus knew his time was near he set his face like flint toward Jerusalem. As we employ that same attitude we can refine our definition of trust in the living God.

May God grant us eyes to see and ears to hear that he may have what rightfully belongs to him.

Amen.

Differences All the Same

I thought provoking question of the day.

Are you able to explain the gospel. I mean, if someone was to ask you could you tell them what the gospel is?

This seems like a straightforward question. But add the following to it.

A musician writes a song about the blue sky. The color and texture of his music is related to blue skies. He writes another song about mud. Agreeably the color and texture of that music will be different. He writes other songs. He writes about marriage, divorce, death, birth, roles in life, troubles galore, Freedom and joy. And every song is slightly different because of the material he deals with. If he only use the notes to “Mary had a little lamb”, the impact just wouldn’t be the same.

So when I ask can you share the nature of the gospel of Christ, I’m talking about delivering it in a variety of ways depending on the person you’re sharing it with. Now that gets thought-provoking.

Do you hear what I hear?

“When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart.”

Do you hear what I hear?

“A child, a child,

shivers in the cold

let us bring him

Silver and gold.”

What good is our profit

When the cross is in sight;

When he strained so hard

That glorious night?

Let his body be covered

With bleeding sweat.

Father’s will to be done!

And yet.

The pageantry of Christmas.

Some shiny toy, a new dress.

Does this keep warm

The Word of God?

Does this help the message

Be cast abroad?

Or is it something deep within;

Someplace that’s hidden

From our sin.

_______

Do you hear what I hear,

Whispered in the streets?

The silver and gold

He desires so

Cannot be carried

By feet.

________

Believe! Believe!

Deep down in your soul.

Let the seed of Word

Have a place.

“Come in, come in.

Come out of the cold.

Let me taste

The meaning of gold.”

The Difference

The one who loves
God’s Holy Son,

Receives

The glaring

Difference.

Accused without,

Accused within,

Accused by doubt,

His strength is in

A Heaven borne  Surety:

The Hope from Him.

AMEN!

No longer is he dressed

As those

From whom he came,

As is supposed.

But now his heart sees better things;

A Raging land where Truth is King.

A land where lies are not allowed.

Where all old ways are disavowed.

A Jealous hand has dressed him so.

Sealed strong with promise,

“I’ll not let you go”.

And so,

The echo sounds within his soul.

As better things he’s seen.

Yet through his loving urging,

He’s only seen as mean.

As one step leads

To the next one planted,

From love to love

His heart is challenged.

To speak?

He must.

To do?

He’s thrust.

By virtue of

Grand Love Within.

No opposition’s

Strong enough,

To lightly challenge Him!

“Forgive them,

For they do not know

The damage that they do.

Though all day long

We sing Your song.

It’s not us they hate.

It’s You.”

Heavenly Ultimatum, The Eaternal Litmus Test

What does this mean do you? How do you interpret it.

I’m just asking the question. I don’t want to know what the answer is.

32 “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.

34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn

“ ‘a man against his father,

    a daughter against her mother,

    a daughter-in-law against her

         mother-in-law—

36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’

37 “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.

40 “Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. 41 Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. 42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”

Define Profit

To command and audience is to beg greed to come and destroy innocence. Similar to a healthy and contented man devising ways to end his life.

Compromise will entertain humanity. Accolades will surely follow. Profit will come visit. And what was intended to be best among man quickly turns sour and destructive. It becomes a hint of truth, not the blazing, holy, Life filled words of God.

I could earn money arranging words. A great many have. All they have to do is throw water on the fire. But what I write is freely given. None of it comes from me. And it is wise to fan the flames, not water them down.

It would be like a salesman who is sent by a strong merchant to sell wares along the road, and as the people stop and purchase, the salesman puts the profit in his own pocket. When he returns to the one who sent him what reward will he turn over?

The merchant has been generous. He has sold beautiful, expensive, rare, lasting, and precious things to an unworthy and impoverished rabble. How could the salesmen be so greedy? How could the salesman be so stupid? What possible use is he to those he was sent to help? And how will the salesman be received by the one who sent him.

No. I am of the unworthy and impoverished rabble. Let me receive the things that belong to me. Let me work with my hands, as the example of the Apostle Paul shows us.

The last thought this:

When I offer the pure things of my Master, the impoverished rabble will pass me by. Even this is profit to my Master. What then, is the payment for the things he offers so freely? And how grotesque to receive money and praise for such work done?

THINK ETERNITY!
