The Testimony of True Peace.

Those who know the Lord Jesus hold the answers the world is looking for.  Though the world will hate true Christians with a passion, the answer to life rests in the testimony of these people of God.  The sad thing is that the world continues to deny that these people are of any value.  Perhaps this is because of the false Christians, which abound today.

Regardless the reasons why, the testimony of promise will rest within those called by God to wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb.  Want peace?  Want hope?  Want the ability to face the demands of today?  You’ll find the answer in your nearest true Christian.  Ask without judgment.  You’re dealing with another human being.  We are not God.  We just testify to the power of Christ within us.

Wait

The Lord gives strength to those who wait for Him.  He is the source of a power beyond the understanding of both the world and His people.  He is able to do far more than we are able to ask.  For He alone lives in eternity and knows the true demands of this place in which we live.

Are you floundering in the Christian walk?  Look to Him and wait.  Speak of your troubles and voice with your bound tongue.  You can’t express your sorrow or confusion?  Speak to Him.  Then wait.  The answer is approaching.  Just wait.  You are not who you were.  And you are not who you will be.  The situation you find yourself in is not eternal.  It has an end!  But He who calls you from Heaven is eternal and has no end.

Wait for the Lord.  Allow yourself the patience required to wait for Him.  Your help is approaching from the distant shores of Heaven.  Pull up a grain of sand and just wait.

A Prayer of Longing

There are times when we simply can’t see the value of our service to the Lord.  The sadness this short sightedness provokes should never be compared to any sadness common to every man.  It is a sadness the Lord felt as He walked this Place of Testing.  And perhaps, longing, is a better description.  But the longing for one who is deeply loved.  This longing has provoked the following prayer.  May God bless His words inspired by His Beauty.

Lord Jesus, I want to come home.  I know there is work to be done.  Work for Your Glory needs to be accomplished.  You need to work in me.   And I need to work in the world for the sake of Your Holy Name and the souls of the blind.  But I want to come home.

I used to belong here, basking in the darkness.  I used to hate you and my only desire was to be left to my own pleasures.  But You’ve entered and changed all that.  Oh, how happy You make Your people!  How beautiful are the words of what the world calls “doom and gloom”.  You have not given man words to speak of the joys You instill in Your people.  But I want to come home.

I am at a loss as to what to say or do for any one of these who don’t know You.  I speak Your beautiful words.  But they can’t hear.  I show them the hatred for sin You have birthed in my soul.  And they think I am simply an angry man.  Your ways are to be desired above everything in this world, and they ARE.  You have touched my heart with an unspeakable peace and joy.  How deep is the yearning for Your Holy ways!  I have lips, but words fail me.  I want to come home.

But I will stay and love you as from afar.  The sparkle of this world is dimmed to darkness.  The desire to gain what they gain is lost.  And there is no regret at this loss.  You have caused this foolish man to desire what is best.  And all I own is to Your Glory.  I am nothing without You!  And this nothingness causes a vast craving for Your Love.  It is our lot to serve you in this Place of Testing.  And I gladly accept this rule from Your Beautiful hand.  But I want to come home.

The Lord Has Done This!

The Lord!  The Lord has done this!

My soul is at home while my body sucks dust.

Where your treasure is, so your heart will be also.

I am a citizen of heaven proclaiming the unseen.

Considered a fool among men, my lips stammer His Glory.

I have seen with my blindness a promise of He who cannot lie.

And my hands reach out frantically to touch the feet of The Righteous One!

No longer do I belong to this world of foolishness and sin.

I am His!

The Lord!  The Lord has done this!

Pure Service

For those who believe religion is enough to present yourself before the Most High God on the day of Judgment and receive that “Well done, good and faithful servant”.  I know this is what you currently believe.  And I know that what you’re doing by believing this is to shoot for the minimum service due to the Lord of Life.  You think you can have the best of both worlds.  That is, you think you can live in this world and perform your religious duties and be acceptable come that day.  Thinking on this, I stumbled across a way to describe what you are doing.

One man owns a very ornate cup.  And once or twice a week he takes his cup down from above the fireplace and takes a sip.  Swirling it around in his mouth, he then spits the water back into the cup.  Carefully putting the cup back in it’s dustless ring on the mantle, he turns to enjoy his life of ease.  He has done this for years.  And the cup is full of his spit and the dust which gathers from the room.

Another man has abandoned everything he had and moved into a house boat which was given to him by the owner of the Great Lakes.  from Yahoo Group "Houseboatbuilding"Every moment of every day, he lives on pure water.  He has more water than he can drink in 100 life times.  He drinks as he will and serves the owner of the lake with joy and abandon.

Religion is much like the first man.  It is held captive by man and set on a perch for certain times of ritual need.  But religion is not pure service to the Lord of Life.  And as foolish and sickening as this man’s ritual sipping might appear, so the man without a love for God’s will appears foolish and sickening before the Most High God.

You can do anything you want in this life.  God has allowed man to chase after anything he wants for now.  But only those who render service to their creator through the blood of Jesus will receive that “Well done”.

The Evloution of Response.

tongue lashing (crop)

When I first began to respond to anti-Christian blogs I would attack what was being presented.  I guess I saw their words as the enemy.  But two things have happened, through the course of dealing with such words.  The most important and transforming experience in these proceedings was the Holy Spirit of God speaking through me.  We are told the following:   11 “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, 12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.” (from Luke 12)

Who are the synagogue rulers and authorities of satan’s push against Christ?  It happens to be anyone who will come against Jesus’ people in word or in deed.  So I watch what get’s typed in the responses I present.  They became far less antagonistic and far less full of me.  God does speak through His people.  You don’t feel it as a force pouring through your body.  He simply transforms your mind to understand the implications of what was presented.  So I start typing and just allow the mind to relax.  God is in control.

The second transforming experience holds an equal amount of power.  I’ve become to see these people as simply a mouth piece of the one who has stood against the Lord from the beginning.  They are not the enemy.  And their words are addressed by the Lord through me.  What is left to me is to recognize that I was once one of them.  I used to demean everything holy.  I was a trash heap of ruin in a corrupt body of flesh.  Running around just looking for a fight.

So when you deal with folk who seem to stand against you, try to remember who’s ultimately in charge.  They are going to die just like you’re gonna die.  The body wears out and accidents happen.  The major difference between the Christian and the man or woman without Jesus is the presence of the Holy Spirit.  He is the power of God’s Son set as a seal for those who God is in the process of redeeming.  In all things we rest knowing that we are His.
