Why?

Technological advances dawned among men some 300 years ago.  The world had not seen such things appear before then.   Why?

I also take note that these advances came to the countries which made some embrace of Christianity.   They did not come from lands under the dominion of other religions.  Why?

I marvel at how completely immersed man has become in this technology.   God has become nothing compared to a big screen tv.  No one asks for or considers healing from God.  The enticements of sexual immorality seep into everything that had been good.  And no one notices.  In fact they applaud sexual enticements of every sort.

Why has it become this way in these days?  Why does no one ask?  It has become obscene to bring up these things.  Why?

The last days have come upon man.  And he embraces them like a child does his mother.  You say you would not take the mark of the beast.  How can you say that when you take everything else he offers?

Run to Jesus to learn what you don’t know.  Beg for mercy from Him.  Only He can open your eyes.  Only Jesus can pull you loose from satan’s ploys.  If you scoff at these things, it is proof that you do not have the eyes of a Christian.  Think about it.

Your Post

What would you do if you were commanded to live in a house atop a hill just outside the city?  In the house is nothing more than a bed and fire pit.  No one comes to visit.  And the command restrains you from going into the city.  Every day food is supplied so that there is no need to leave your post.

The road that goes by your hill is filled with travelers.  You are commanded to spend your days preaching to them.  They are not so far away that they can’t hear you.  But none will venture to ascend your hill.  What would you do?  Will you obey and remain?  Or will you abandon your God granted post?

Patience.  Honorable service.  Dedication to God’s sovereignty.   Faith.  And a distinct lack of personal glory and honor are yours all your days.  What will you do?

Isn’t this what we are called to do?  We are to ascend to our place near the Lord.  From there we are commanded to proclaim regardless the response.  Can you count the number of us who have gone into the city?  How many of those tiny houses contain artifacts of man?   How did they get there?   The Lord did not put them there, nor did He have them delivered.

Ours

“I gave you legs.  How did you use them?   Did you seek My glory as you made step after step?   Or did you use them for uses of your own?

Arms adorned your temple.  Were they tools, raised for worship of Me?  Did you force them into My service?   Or have they gathered honor to yourself?

David, My servant, admited that he was wonderfully and fearfully made.  And he went about striving to proclaim My sovereignty over all creation.  Day after day, men and women lift what I have made so that it is plainly seen that I am their God.  What about you?”

The cost is high.  The hatred for God runs deep.  Variety attends the imagination of man as he rebells against Him.  “This body is mine!”  And glory is stolen.  How do we expect to be welcomed as His friends?   If we steal while in flesh, what will we do in spirit?  What words will convince my brothers and sisters?   What will shove the mind into understanding?

This is not a place to gather.  It is a place to honor He who made us.  But lips are sealed, lest we offend.  “God is large enough to receive offence.  He will not harm us.  But man can take away our place.”  In one word we rob God of what is rightfully His.  It is not our place that is at stake.  All things have come from Him.  And we hatefully call them “Ours”.

Remember

Am I sober?  Am I willing to walk in the day undressed before Him?  Has He shown me what I am before Him, that I might remember?

Or am I as the man who owns a mirror?  I saw my reflection but I can’t remember what I look like.   My mind is so tiny.  I am so very small and fragile.

But He has not left me alone, without instruction.  “Remember”, He commands.  And my mind is quickened to look around.  Do I remember what I once knew?

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  (Romans 12)

Happy New Year

It was rough to be fake before the advent of technology.   It’s so easy to hide behind things.  But this speaks from man’s perspective.  God not only sees as if from above, He sees from within.

Make whatever New Years resolution you want.  If it does not include transparency before God, you’re foolin yourself.

Happy New Year to all.  And to all, “good day”.

Earned/Granted

A rather popular belief is that, somehow, a miracle is born by going to “Church”.  That if you go often enough you’ll miraculously become a guy who loves God.  Or better yet, become loved by God.  Perhaps you’ll become a good Christian man.

But faith, that Living Faith, comes from God.  Nothing man can create in the way of faith can compare to what the Lord gives in an unseen moment.

The fear of the Lord comes from hearing.  A man knows to recognize his need.  But that acceptance before the Lord comes from the Lord.

Christians are born of God.  They are not trained into fellowship with God by man.  Attend all you want or can.  But eternity is guarded by the Father in heaven.  Please consider this.  Christianity is granted, never earned.

By His Grace.
