Listen With Ears Everywhere.

I, ElC, chipfolding the ears of a small, somehow!

A man who desires to hear the good of God through Christ will listen with all his ears.  Though the body of man is adapted with only two ears, the Lord’s wisdom requires far more.  Much like the creatures of Revelation chapter 4: “8And the four living creatures, each one of them
having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say,

“HOLY, HOLY, HOLY is THE LORD
GOD, THE ALMIGHTY,
WHO WAS AND WHO IS AND WHO IS TO COME.”

We listen to the activity of ourselves and others.  We listen to the lives of animals.  We listen to our dreams, in which we search for truthful meaning.  We listen to the works of man such as he has applied his hand to build.  We listen to time, past, present and promise.  And we listen to who we find ourselves to be.

1. What are we doing?

2. Are the animals at rest while they do the day’s work?

3. Is there any importance, at all, to the dream I had last night?

4. What wonderful truth can we hear from a building, road, airplane, fence, and other such things?

5. Is the noise which can be heard by history, now, and yet speaking a truth for the current moment?

6. What noises do I hear from the man I’ve come to be?

The Word of God found in the Bible is valuable beyond our understanding.  But we are also given senses which enable our “listening”.   “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)

We reject the simplistic view that God can be found in nature alone.  For He has given us a Holy word for guidance.  We are able to read.  And if we’re not able to read, we know someone who can.  But the combination of all creation and the Holy Word of God can enable us to listen with all our being.

“They Win Because We Cheer”.

Armchairs

The “Arm Chair Quarterback” makes the plays with his fat pork.

And rails against the legs of those who fiercely play the sport.

He’s at a loss to cause a win.  He only uses noise.

And those who play with all their heart gain money from those boys.

There’s ones who rail and cuss all day, and gather against the Lord,

They’re much like they who sit to watch and yell in one accord.

They ridicule, chide, and mock, at those eternally bound souls.

As though they too could pick it up and winsome walk the coals.

“The players rustle all their might, yet they are men like us.”

“So too these folk, these ‘righteous folk’ who preach at me, ‘You must’.”

They testify that all the work the Christians hold so dear,

Is just a noise the players make.  “They win because we cheer.”

Look at the Glory of God revealed in the world.  Consider that no man has ever built a walnut tree.  This is the work of God given to man that man might consider the Glory of He who cannot lie.  He provides for man.  Man does not provide for himself.  Consider the animals He has given us for food.  Consider the plants He provided for our health and strength.  Consider the air He has provided for the lungs He created.  Look at how continually God provides regardless the sins of man committed in His Holy Sight.  Look at how He has caused the ocean to obey His limits.  Consider how He has commanded that man should perceive His Glory in the works of God’s hand.  The miracles of God’s Glory surround us.  And only the disobedient will consider the works of their hands as more important than worship of God.  He has made the way clear to man.  Worship the Lord God Almighty only.  And turn away from all boasting and sin before His Holy Throne.  How can we worship in truth if we remain outside His Glorious provision of Jesus as our sacrifice for our sins?  Will you refuse Him who calls from Heaven?   And do not mistake the “calling” of God toward holiness.  We are created to worship the Lord of Life.   We are not created to seek the works of our own hands.

Acknowledge His Ownership.

KJV Bible

Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness so that you will earn praise or even anger from men.  But in all ways please the Lord who made you.  And do not refrain from speaking out in regard to the sinfulness of man.  We are put in a serious condition by these words:  ” “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.”  (Matt. 10:32)

What is it to acknowledge?  Accept or admit the existence or truth of.  And what is it to disown?  Refuse to acknowledge or maintain any connection with.

We either stand with the Lord in this “Place of Testing”, or we stand against Him.  Speak without shame.  For you are bought with the price of the Blood of God’s Son.  Recount your excuses on paper.  Look at them and consider rendering them to the Lord when you meet Him face to face.  And consider that while you’re telling Him why you didn’t speak up, you’ll be noticing the scars on his hands and feet and the hole in His side.

Any Loss is Still a Loss.

The Argument Sketch

Image via Wikipedia

I was pondering the last post about those who tear down everything about Christianity.  And the following understanding came to me:

As we argue over the Lord Jesus, everyone loses.  No one wins as we are in the phase of debate and argument.  Because while the Christian is eternally solid, there is a reminder of the fate reserved for the godless and sinner.  And while the godless and sinner argue their points which support their life choices, they lose time which could have been gained in the service of the Lord.

As necessary as these arguments and debates are, they present a period of loss for both sides.  The gain comes when we are living out the Christian life at the “cutting edge” of our faith and understanding.  Anything less can be considered, to some degree, a loss.

The Never Ending Blog.

Many write in their blogs wondering what to talk about today.  So do I.  But it’s not for lack of something to say.  It’s a war between what I can grasp with my tiny understanding, and what words to use to describe what I do perceive.

I find it interesting how the general subject seems to turn from one aspect of the Lord to another each week.  But there does seem to be a certain thrust every week.

If you want to write a blog where your material is never ending, try Jesus.  People will hate you for your words.  Isn’t that irony…………..
