The RIGHT to Brood

I just had a realization that is fully worthy of contemplation.

Every Christian blogger desires that his or her things be read.  And oh how we take note of our ministry.  And it is right that we should care so deeply about our charge to write.  For there are plenty enough worthless writings of man in the very same place.  But we hold up the Living God’s Holy Son!

I came to understand that it is just as right to brood over this blog, as it is for a Pastor to brood over that which is his.  But then the stupendous struck me.

I have a right from God’s Holy Son to brood over the work He has delivered to me.  But I brood over what has been given.  How much more is it right for Jesus to brood over the work that is HE?  He is the source.  How deeply does He desire that His things be read and understood, ingested into the soul and accomplished?

If I care about the ministry that He had delivered to me.  How much more does He care about His Living Ministry among the people of this place of testing?

Why I blog

Some write in their blogs about themselves.  Their intent is simply to be heard.  Some write in their blogs about various aspects of life.  Their intent is simply to voice their opinion.  Some intend to teach.  Some intend to point at the faults of others, or the system of life we embrace simply because it is the accepted norm.  Some write in their blogs because they are being friendly, or even because they have a specific hatred.  So why do I write in my blog?

There must be honesty in this answer.  So, in certain ways, I must agree with all of the above.  These are motivations for writing.  And I admit that they appear in my blog from time to time.  But they are not the central reason why I write.  More than any other reason, I write my blog as a testimony to the Lord Jesus.   I don’t write to change lives, so much.  Though it would be nice to know that I have been used to help another find a solid relationship with the Creator.  I write about the Lord because I want to leave a legacy on this earth as one who encouraged the hopeless to consider their plight with open eyes.

If. But Alas.

If all the words I ever posted in this blog were like: “Jesus loves you”, “Heaven is a wonderful place”, “Aren’t roses pretty”, People are beautiful loving souls”, The earth is alive and you’re treating her badly”, “Cowboys used guns”, “sin is just a matter of opinion”, Everything will go on like this forever”, and the like, lots of people would read my blog.

But I don’t post rediculous words or half truths.  And the traffic and comments on this blog testify to a singular truth:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.

For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”
