Is, Was, Will Be

When I wrote these words they were my “now”.  When you read these words they appeared before you in your “now”.   But as each word “was” written or read, it is no longer “now”.  Each word became what was.  That sounds like gibberish.  But it speaks of something vastly important.

We may remember but we cannot re-live.  It is only give unto man that he may live in what is.  Why then do we all struggle so hard to live in what was?  And how do we know that our memory is clear?  How do we know that we remember with fullness of understanding?

Who can change what has been done?  We may do again so that we may rectify what we found wrong.  But that does not change what has been done.  It only “does” again.

The past and the future are equally beyond our grasp.  In our memories we are helpless.  And the future looms as darkness.  Man is utterly helpless.

God in His wisdom created time; moments of “IS” come and go relentlessly.  Like a singular spike in an eternal line of doing.  Who has ears to hear this?  Who is willing to understand?

If a man has peace in what was it is because God has had mercy and forgiven.  If a man is not afraid of what is coming it is because he trusts the promise of the Holy One.

Anxiety lives just behind us and just in front.  But true peace is found in what is.  As long as we strive to live in what we remember we will face anxiety.  As long as we brace ourselves for what comes next anxiety dresses us as a garment.  But peace is found in faith alone.

The name of the sovereign God is “I am that I am”.  He alone owns what was.  And He does with it what pleases Him.  He alone owns what will be.  And He alone does what pleases Him to do.  Why then do his people live looking backward or straining forward?

Since we cannot change what was, we are forced to either live in anxiety or receive His peace.  And since we cannot know what comes we are forced either to live in anxiety or to receive His peace.  Both require faith.

God is.  Therefore if we follow him we must also live in what is.  To do otherwise only brings doubt.  And if that is the case he is right to refer to us as “ye of little faith”.

Leave what was in the hands of he who is.  Likewise leave what will be in the hands of he who is.  Strive only to do in faith.  In this you will find immeasurable peace.  In this you will come to understand that his burden upon you is light indeed.

Who can decipher the deeds he has done according to what is true?  And who has known the mind of God that he is sure of what will happen next?  If we are that tiny then why do we not believe?

God alone gives true understanding of these things.  Philosophers and poets have given their whole life to understand these things and to write them.  But those who are in Christ Jesus find themselves living them effortlessly.

Let the world work with their hands to provide what will be.  Their folly is evident.  Let the world build their filthy temple on the foundation of what was.  They build on nothing.  But let God’s people understand.  We do not build at all.  We trust in the Sovereign Lord.  His name is Christ Jesus.

End of ages

The question has been asked, “What is man that you are mindful of him, the Son of man that you care for him?  Truly a ponderous question.

Who are we that God has created such a place as this?  And who is Christ Jesus that he should be sent to fulfill a new covenant between man and God?  He was even required to seal this new covenant with His blood.

We are witness to how creation moans and groans for a place of fulfillment.  And we ourselves look for a hope, indicating that we have not yet received that for which we hope.  Our hope finds fulfillment in the end of this age; and that by the beautiful sacrifice of he who was sent, even Christ Jesus.

But the writer of Hebrews tells us something marvelous.  Christ Jesus has come at the end of all ages in regard to creation.  “But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.”  ( Hebrews 9: 26)

We take note of the fullness of Christ’s sacrifice.  That he has, once and for all,  offered himself.  In his work for the Father creation finds fulfillment.  At the end of this age then, creation becomes complete.

From our moment of Transfiguration we enter into the perfect rest of God.  Who then are we that we should be considered?  We become the fulfillment of God’s creation as we are dressed completely in what is perfect and true.  We are the Bride of Christ for the sake of his glory.  Our Transfiguration will become final act of creation.

This adds purpose to the gospel.  All the more urgent is our need to witness and testify.  We speak of death.  But the sacrifice of Christ speaks of life, the eternal peace of God, and the end of creation; the work of establishing eternity.

There will not be another opportunity to secure your place among the people of God. There is destruction. There is no purgatory. What you do now is what you will be forever. Those who worship Christ Jesus, learn from him what is holy, and obey according to the father’s will, these alone will enter his time of rest at the end of all these creation ages.

Many men

Many men do the things that are good.  Thousands and millions, even now, give praise to God through Christ Jesus.  Forced to their knees in prayer by the Holy Love that is Christ, they give earnest prayer that their life might come to reflect the will of the living God.

His holy law is written on their hearts and seared into their mind.  And before the world awakes, these have come before Him that they may be prepared for the things the day will bring.  He will honor what is His.  And as he gives to them, they receive.

The world will see them all day long.  The world will see the witness that glows in all their actions and speech.  The world will know these men are different.  But they will not understand the reason or means for it.

Thousands and millions have received.  But millions and billions are yet blind, deaf and righteously infirm.  They do not have foundation of life.

It is for the sake of these dead that Jesus has given what is His.  It is for the sake of the millions and billions that He dresses His people in righteous behavior.

Not one of His people were born righteous.  They are of those dead; those millions and billions of lifeless souls.  Their eyes have been opened and their ears released to hear.

If you would be a part of them then ask.  Appeal to God.  Seek His face while it is yet dark.  Go into a secluded room.  And ask.  Make it your habit to seek the face of the Holy Lord.  For God is not willing that any should die.

He searches the earth to listen and to see.

Finding those who bend a humble knee.

Those who cry out loud, “God forgive me!”

These catch the attention of HE.

Another Religion?

Why do Christians preach to man?  What right do we have to firmly believe that we have the answers? Men will say to us, “You are just like us.  We see your sins.  We perceive your faults.  There are plenty of religions among us.  What need do we have for yours?  By some reason, you think what you believe belongs in the belly of everyone.  You are no different from any other cultish behavior of any other obnoxious religion.”

We are just like you.  Therefore we know the extent of man’s rebellion against God.  We too are sinners with plenty of faults among us.  And what we preach presents itself faultlessly as the final answer to all man’s troubles.  From without, you cannot understand what we say.  But if you would enter Christianity the Lord would prove His words to you.

However, your problem is that once you enter you will find yourself compelled to stay.  By your questions you prove you are not ready or willing.  But neither were we.  We do not preach fables.  We do not believe as we do because a man has told us.  We believe because the Heavenly Father has drawn us to His Holy Son.

Because of the rebellion of man against the Holy One, there are plenty of religions, indeed!  But we have found that man’s need is not satisfied by opinion.  We have found that Christ Jesus fulfills every need of every religion.  He leaves no stone unturned.  He is Holy Truth embodied.  For this reason (That the Lord Jesus is the embodiment of truth) we are obnoxious to you even as the Lord Jesus was once obnoxious to us.

The pride of man will refuse to believe that he is nothing.  The pride of man builds his own answers, as if a man can say he has seen the Holy Living God.  But as we believe, the Lord strips that rebellious spirit from us.  Humility comes to understand.  Humility fears the Living God.  Humility is the necessary first step in understanding what is Holy and Good.

Jesus proves to His people that He has every right to claim the singular title of “Son of God”.  We are not tossed about, as are other religions, by every desire and fabrication of man’s mind.  Yes there are many who claim to be Christians yet offer a seriously blemished testimony of God’s perfect commands.  And the best of us will falter from time to time.  But Christ Jesus remains the same in His Holy command to, “Be holy, even as your Father in Heaven is holy”.   And He teaches His people to understand these things.

You may find fault with us.  But you will also find absolute truth within us.  Ask.  Provoke the testimony within us.  Keep asking questions.  The Lord will testify from within His people.  We willingly confess our lack before all who ask.  But you will not find fault with the Son of God.

You will say, “How can you be sure that what you believe connects with Heaven?”  We know it by the living words of the Bible.  And it is confirmed within us by the Holy Spirit He gives; the Spirit which is sent from the Living Lord Jesus Himself.  Though it is by faith, this faith is not like that faith a man holds in things unseen.   The faith we have is given to us from the Heavenly Father. He confirms His Lovely Son’s position before Him.   There is a leading from the Lord.  There is a “proof”, which over time, confirms without doubt those things we preach to the world.

What are you doing? It’s never too late.

Freedom

You can only wear what we tell you.  If you dress differently you will be punished.

You can only say what is appropriate.  Inside those words is freedom.

We lay down the construct for social acceptance.  Those who live within it are free to live.  Those who do not live with in our social construct will find themselves persecuted, ridiculed, marginalized, and in the end, destroyed.

This is what the world says by all the things it expects from its citizens.  The great majority obey.  But there are a few who would rather die than submit.

I speak of those people who live under the construct of Eternity.  They recognize that the body is nothing.  It is as if the plastic wrap with which we keep our sandwiches.  It is like the cloud which brings the rain.  Once the rain has fallen, no one cares about the cloud.

Wake up and look about you.    Are you really free to live your life?   Or have you given them authority over everything you are?

To break free is extremely expensive.  No man can do it alone, for no man can afford it.  But when a man tries in the name of Christ Jesus he will find success.  You can be free to live.   You do not need to obey the world.

Time spent well

I do not waste my time weeping for the dead.  Millions more will die before it’s my turn.  That would be a whole lot of weeping.

No, I spend my hours trying to cheat hell of a few souls.  I find this activity far more consuming and profitable than wasting away for what is “A done deal.”

If the dead are with Christ, then they are more alive than I.  If the dead are in hell, there’s no bringing them back, and they are more dead than I.

So I will spend my energy trying to convince others that life in Christ Jesus is immeasurably better, regardless the apparent loss or pain.

By His Grace.
