Morning

Twilight

The colors are almost here.  And the dew is suspended like a blanket.  Listen to the Robins praise the joy of the coming day.  “Eat!  We will eat and fly!  Ah, to fly again.  It is a day for us to soar.  Thanks to God for this beautiful morning!”

Stillness reigns at the advent of day.  The world is not yet awake.  Ponder, Saints!  Give that moment of marvelous joy a place to light.  For your day is nearly here.  He watched over your sleeping, though He left your dreams alone.  No message has been delivered while you rested your weary bones.  But now your eyes are open and your neck will crane to see.  sovereign Lord please help me to perceive what must certainly be.

Those whose faith has blossomed into a sort of knowing are so very blessed.  Though we can’t touch our desire, we are propelled into a hope beyond anything this world offers.  The longing becomes intense.  Yet the strength of what we don’t have is stronger than what man perceives.

Look!  We too can walk in places without feet.  We see what is, in a place of temporary colors.  This is the land of shadows.  But every shadow is cast by something of substance.  And every shadow lands on something of substance.  How unspeakably brilliant is the Glory of God to even cast a shadow in a land of darkness!

Glory to God Most High!  He is the Father of the Lord of Life!  May His will be done forever.

Estranged, But Never Alone.

Alone he sings

I find something rather puzzling in my experience of Christ Jesus and His “Called out ones”.   I stand alone as though I were cast out from everyone in Christ.  And there’s no doubt that the non-believers hold me in contempt.  The latter is as it should be.  The former gives me a bit of pause.  I accept the Lord’s leading without reservation.  And I’m not here to gripe about what I receive.  But, as much as I try, I can’t seem to gain acceptance from God’s family.

If I were face to face with my brothers and sisters, there would be no indication that I don’t fit in.  But in the “real world”, (that is, outside the traditional Church environment) I walk alone.  And regardless how I try to “fit in”, there are no companions in The Faith to walk with.

This is a curious plight.  I don’t feel slighted in the slightest.  And I hold no one at fault.  But, for the life of me, I can’t find an explanation.  I might point out my quirks.  But everyone’s got them.  About the only thing I can look to as partially to blame is my focus on what is Christ Jesus.  Perhaps I would have better fit in in another part of history.

Regardless.  I do enjoy a vibrant life in the Lord.  And perhaps it’s proper that I should feel shorted in anything else.  I will take what is given me and rejoice in this estranged life.  For God knows all.  And He is able to save by leading us into the life of His choosing.

The Lord Has Done This!

The Lord!  The Lord has done this!

My soul is at home while my body sucks dust.

Where your treasure is, so your heart will be also.

I am a citizen of heaven proclaiming the unseen.

Considered a fool among men, my lips stammer His Glory.

I have seen with my blindness a promise of He who cannot lie.

And my hands reach out frantically to touch the feet of The Righteous One!

No longer do I belong to this world of foolishness and sin.

I am His!

The Lord!  The Lord has done this!

The “HE”

Before darkness, He was.

Before the first star, He was.

Before the first grain of dust, He was.

Before the first hint of sin, He was.

Before Able died, He was.

Before you, He was.

He is, before darkness.

He is, and forever will be.

He is not to be your buddy.  He is!

Consider the Lordship of Christ Jesus.  Consider and be in awe.

Liar: God or Man?

The old story of rags to riches is rarely lived out.  So it is with the Christian life.  What holds us back is doubt.  We sit alone and useless because we doubt that God’s promise of eternal life is a sure thing.  Bottom line, this means God lied about being willing and able to bring us to completion in Christ Jesus.  This is why doubt is such a horrible sin.  We are, in effect and reality, calling God a liar.

So it is written, so it is true, and will remain.  Let God be true and every man a liar.

Bow Shots to the Fleet!

USS Enterprise leads ships of the Enterprise C...

I listened to two men on a radio show.  They were presenting themselves as financial advisors.  One of them went off on his soap box a while.  He was recalling the oil spill in the gulf and mentioned the situation in Greece.  He pointed out how the media was trying to lead us into a belief that the world was going to end.  His point was that though bad things happen, all is well on the western front (so to speak).

I felt there was something wrong with what he was saying.  I pondered the point he made in my soul and came away with this:

A fleet of ships has been given the task of venturing across the ocean to a far shore.  They were sent on a specific task to a specific place, a pin point location thousands of miles away.  On either side of the fleet are waters teaming with pirates, hidden projections in the waters, storms which tend to draw or push the fleet off course, and many other hazards.  Their navigator, on the lead ship, is the son of the father of the owner.  So the sailors aren’t willing to disrobe him of his duties, though he sucks at his job.  There are friendly ships guarding the fleet on the right and left.  So when the ships tend to drift off course these friendly ships shoot across the bow of the fleet’s lead ship.  This lead ship sends back messages that everyone is to correct their course.  Having corrected their course, the Captain and officers of the lead ship again turn to the stupidity of the navigator.

This is how it is for the world.  They drift into sin and forget who’s in charge and the orders they have from Him.  Yet, in His mercy, He directs troubles to threaten our way.  In fear men turn back to what is right.  But when calm comes again to their path, they begin to drift back into sin.  What will God eventually do to those who act this way?  He does not desire to have people who must be led by a ring in their nose.  He is looking for willing participants in His ways.
