Listen With Ears Everywhere.

I, ElC, chipfolding the ears of a small, somehow!

A man who desires to hear the good of God through Christ will listen with all his ears.  Though the body of man is adapted with only two ears, the Lord’s wisdom requires far more.  Much like the creatures of Revelation chapter 4: “8And the four living creatures, each one of them
having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say,

“HOLY, HOLY, HOLY is THE LORD
GOD, THE ALMIGHTY,
WHO WAS AND WHO IS AND WHO IS TO COME.”

We listen to the activity of ourselves and others.  We listen to the lives of animals.  We listen to our dreams, in which we search for truthful meaning.  We listen to the works of man such as he has applied his hand to build.  We listen to time, past, present and promise.  And we listen to who we find ourselves to be.

1. What are we doing?

2. Are the animals at rest while they do the day’s work?

3. Is there any importance, at all, to the dream I had last night?

4. What wonderful truth can we hear from a building, road, airplane, fence, and other such things?

5. Is the noise which can be heard by history, now, and yet speaking a truth for the current moment?

6. What noises do I hear from the man I’ve come to be?

The Word of God found in the Bible is valuable beyond our understanding.  But we are also given senses which enable our “listening”.   “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)

We reject the simplistic view that God can be found in nature alone.  For He has given us a Holy word for guidance.  We are able to read.  And if we’re not able to read, we know someone who can.  But the combination of all creation and the Holy Word of God can enable us to listen with all our being.

Pure or Crooked.

TEST

Image via Wikipedia

“to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.” (Psalm 18:26)

How we perceive God and what is good, depends on the state of our heart.  Each man receives the value of his heart.  A little child’s innocence will allow it to hold a worm with wonder and joy.  But one who is older and jaded will regard that worm as ugly, hideous, and worthless.

Purify your heart from wickedness and you will begin to see the purity of God’s creation.  We say, for instance, that we forgive someone for what they’ve done.  But for most these are just words.  A little later and they will find themselves hashing the incident over again with hatred.  The forgiveness God demands does not come from a wicked heart.

A godly man will wake in the morning to the sound of peace in his heart.  He knows he has entered into a place where he can accept the will of God regardless the circumstances.  A wicked man will wake to consider the hatred he harbored the day before.  He counts all the offences against himself and others.  He looks for this same hatred in everyone else, for it resides so deeply in himself.  While a godly man will see beyond the actions of others to the reasons why they might do what they do.

The righteous man will consider death and suffering a task the Lord has presented for him to endure.  And will gladly accept the task, for he knows the Lord is pure and loving.  A wicked man will consider the same two tasks as hideous and revolting.  He will desire to be rid of both.  And will accuse the Lord of being too harsh.

We encounter life according to our own level of love or hatred.  A wise man will hear these words and consider his own heart.  The day is coming when our hearts will be shown for what they really are.  There will be no place to hide and no excuse to use.  Today is the day of testing.   You are tested by the world around you.  Are you shown as a man of God?  You are tested by your own actions.  Are you a man of God?  You are tested by the Lord.  Are you a man of God?

Can a Stick be Guilty of a Beating?

stick stick stick stick stick stick stick stic...

I often (understatement) point to the faults of men.  But I will allow for a few things:

Even a violent man can live at peace with a few things.  He usually doesn’t abuse his drink.  He’ll coddle a glass till it’s gone.  But he might just as likely throw the glass against the floor when the drink is gone.  A corrupt politician will take care of his money.  He will take care of it like a sow bear guarding it’s cubs.  A mother might take good care of her children.  But without the rule of God in her life, she will allow her children to watch television all day long (except when the gossip programs come on).  A husband might well take care of his wife, which was his pledge at their wedding.  But without the rule of God in his life, he’s just as likely to gawk at other women as they pass by.

With the rule of God in our lives, we learn (emphasis on “learn”) to continue our obedience out into the remotest reaches of our life.  We listen to what the Lord says and strive to apply it to everything we are.  There is a significant difference between socially acceptable behavior and Godly behavior.  And this is what you will find posted in my writings.

Yes, I am learning to hate the “ways of the world”.  And I ask for forgiveness when I slip into considering the individual rather than the sin.  It is sometimes extremely hard to tell where one starts and the other leaves off.  And if a man is beating me with a stick, I’m not likely to blame the stick.

Look at the Glory of God revealed in the world.  Consider that no man has ever built a walnut tree.  This is the work of God given to man that man might consider the Glory of He who cannot lie.  He provides for man.  Man does not provide for himself.  Consider the animals He has given us for food.  Consider the plants He provided for our health and strength.  Consider the air He has provided for the lungs He created.  Look at how continually God provides regardless the sins of man committed in His Holy Sight.  Look at how He has caused the ocean to obey His limits.  Consider how He has commanded that man should perceive His Glory in the works of God’s hand.  The miracles of God’s Glory surround us.  And only the disobedient will consider the works of their hands as more important than worship of God.  He has made the way clear to man.  Worship the Lord God Almighty only.  And turn away from all boasting and sin before His Holy Throne.  How can we worship in truth if we remain outside His Glorious provision of Jesus as our sacrifice for our sins?  Will you refuse Him who calls from Heaven?   And do not mistake the “calling” of God toward holiness.  We are created to worship the Lord of Life.   We are not created to seek the works of our own hands.

The Altar of Jesus.

Jesus Christ!

He who lives by law will also die by that same law.  For no man can obey the Law of God.  And God will not accept those who break His Law.  God will never accept the boasting of man.  For the pride of man is rebellion and an abomination before Him.  He has set His method of salvation before man clearly.  He demands that all men come to His Throne of Holy Fire by the blood of Jesus His son.  There will never be another way to the Father extended to man.

No man who lives by the law of Moses, or the law of muslims, or the law of any other “religion” will ever enter the presence of the Most High God void of his guilt.  For guilt remains on all who stubbornly refuse the sacrifice of His Son.  Such men will retain their failings before God the Father.

I did not choose to make this understanding from the imagination of my mind.  It will forever remain the work of God on behalf of man.  Boasting and the work of man’s hands will never receive the praise of God.  For all men are born of sin and will die in sin.  It is the Father’s blessed will that all men receive the work of His hand alone.

You praise a man.  And you think this will please the Lord God Almighty.  But God will be praised only.  He has done what man cannot do.  He has opened the door to life.  Accept the sinless and accepted sacrifice of Jesus and live.   Bow to the Lord of eternity and accept Him that He might give you the Spirit of God.  It is through this Spirit that we become sealed by the hand of God.  And only through the Holy Spirit of God is man able to do the works of He who remains invisible.  Humble yourselves before the Most High and cease rebellion born of the works of your own hand.

Become an altar built by no man.  For God will not accept the sacrifices of man any longer.  He has built an altar which no man has seen, this altar is Jesus His Son.  He has been raised to Lord of all Heaven and earth.  “This is my Son, in whom I am well pleased.  Listen to Him.”, the Father spoke.  He has, and never will, say such a thing of any man.  God has made the choice to redeem man under His own hand.

Swarm of Words

“What is the Kingdom of Heaven like. . . ?”  Why did the Lord say that?  Was He not sure?  No.  He was sure of His vision of where He had come from and where He was going.  But, “How shall I describe it?”  He was speaking to men of this world, who had never seen what He was describing.

I consider the vision He has allowed my mind to conceive.  How shall I describe this meager vision?  It is meager because I can only behold His words through the mind of man.  And I speak to the mind of man.  So what shall I say?

I wish to speak words of beauty.  The words that describe the joy He instills within my soul.  So:

Fill me with a swarm of words Lord!

Caress my soul with tools of Your beauty!

Allow me to speak what is true and eternal, to men of my own blood.

I sit enthroned in this tent of flesh.

And I see things radically “other”.

How shall I describe, and to what shall I liken, this beautiful vision You give?
