Warning

On this day of Sabbath for me I appealed to the Lord.  May His mercy be shed upon this servant to relay His word.

“Blood will flow.  Like a river it will flow upon the earth.  Even now the enemy amasses its weapons of destruction.  Rantings and railings against the Holy throne of God abound.   And they take delight in the prospects of the blood they will shed.

The men of blood wander about their lives without knowledge of what is coming.  As was written before, they hear the strange noises of this amassing.  But they do not understand its implications.  Like cattle they eat as they please without the slightest notion that their death is being plotted by evil men.   The father of lies enrages them with unholy encouragement.  Lies fill their hearts, minds and mouths.  And they form boasts worthy of hell itself.  The joy of murder is in their hearts, and there will be no stopping to the war they will wield against their enemies.”

Oh men of this earth, you children of blood, I beg you to hear my plea to you.  Turn from the works of you hand and seek the face of the Loving and Living God.  Repent of the things of sin and seek what is holy and sure.  What has been prophesied from ages past is about to be unleashed.  Where will your feet stand when it begins?  Where will you run to escape what is gathering against you?  Every man’s way is plainly seen by the Lord.  Even the thoughts of your heart are open and clear before His perfect eyes.

He is mercy to those who seek repentance.  He is full of compassion for those who allow themselves to seek His will.  We are not created to seek our own pleasures.  We are created to serve the Living God in spirit and in truth.  But you will not have any of this.  And for this reason the war is assembling in a distant place.  Do not think any will escape.  Do not think that the works of your hands will save you from what is sure to come.  Jesus alone is the answer.  He has pleased His Father and opens His Holy hands to receive all who will humble themselves, pray, and seek His face.

This alone is the day of salvation for all men.  There will not be another offered.  While we inhabit these sacks of blood is the only place where mercy will be extended.  Once you have passed from this place you are sealed forever in what you have received here.  I implore you to seek out the salvation that comes from the Son of God.  Only those who have washed their robes in the Blood of the Lamb of God will be saved.  Accept His invitation to walk into the consuming fire that is the judgment of God.  Purify yourself by submitting to His Lordship.

I have been blessed to share this message.  It pleased Him to share this with us.  Do not spit in the face of what is God’s.  Consider with the utmost sobriety what has been delivered.  I tell you what I have heard.  And appeal to you to respond.   Why would we willingly die?

By His Grace.

“I Want to See Jesus”

Gordon rose from prayer.  He had been asking Jesus to appear to him.  He so desired to see the Lord, or perhaps even a manifestation of His presence.  But nothing happened.

Gordon looked through his soul seeking any sin that might be hindering his relationship with Jesus.  He was sure there was nothing.  And the Scripture was remembered:  Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.”

With a heavy sigh, Gordon resigned himself to quit asking for an appearance.  With his head down he shuffled to the couch and sat down.  Hanging his head for a moment, and closing his eyes, he simply let his soul rest in the peace of The Faith.

After a few minutes Gordon raised his head slowly and let his eyelids raise at the same speed.  And there, before his eyes, was the Bible on the coffee table.  Then it came to him more fresh than ever before: “All Scripture is God breathed.” “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me?”  “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

It wasn’t a voice he heard.  It was a string of understandings that flashed in his mind.  Now he felt foolish for even asking.  And with a renewed effort, Gordon picked up the Bible and began to “see” his Lord and Savior.

No Choice?

We go to the store to buy something.  When we get there, there is an amazing variety of choices for each product.  We get up in the morning and encounter choices.  We want to explain something and we have thousands of words to choose from.  In everything we encounter here, there are billions of choices.  We get accustomed to making choices.  And we begin to believe that everything has a choice to make.

But in the way of eternal life there is no choice.  You either have life or you don’t.  You either have Jesus’ blessing or you don’t.  There are many choices we can make as we work out our salvation.  But God is truth.  There is very little room for choice when it comes to truth.

There are variety of items in creation.  But there is One God, One Savior, One Holy Spirit, One baptism, One faith, and so on.  It isn’t up to us to create choices in our salvation.  It belongs to us to limit our appetite for choice and accept the Lord’s offer.

“Do-Less-Ness” is Not a Gift of the Spirit

One of the hardest lessons for the chronically poor to learn is doing what needs to be done when it needs to be done.  I know there are many who are poor yet are very diligent in what needs to be done.  But it has also been my personal experience (and observation of others) that a certain “do-less-ness” attends the daily routine of many.

Perhaps it’s fear of confrontation that blocks dutiful behavior.  Perhaps it’s just that they focus on matters they deem more important.  Perhaps there are other reasons.  But the bottom line is that when we know what we ought to do and do not do it, we encounter a guilty conscience.  This guilt leads to introverted behavior in many fashions. And, in the end, we own a large portion of “sucky life”.

This is a truth that should be embraced by every Christian.  We expose our faith by our living habits.  And we often drag down the Beautiful Lord Jesus’ reputation by allowing our own to become soiled with neglect.  I can’t imagine what this place would look like if God took on that same “do-less” behavior.

I’m not chiding anyone with this post.  I’m pointing out a truth we should all consider as we serve the Lord.

JOY!

Little Brenda and Thedore get their gifts for Christmas.  How delightful to watch them focus all their joy for a while.  But soon that joy finds another object of focus.

Right now is Christ Mass for the believers whom God has raised up.  Something so precious as the gift of eternal life should initiate such a focused joy as to never lose that first love of wonder.  He is so full of amazing beauty!

Lord, please renew my amazement and joy for who You are and what You’ve done here.  Please don’t let me act like a child at the giving of gifts.  May my joy increase.  May my amazement and wonder abound.  For Your Beauty is Astounding!

Just Thoughts

As might be guessed, by the volume of words here concerning the Gospel, I’m not really Mr. Popular.  And I’ve been doing some thinking about that.  Someone recently told me that they were sure there would come a time in my life when I would abandon this blog.  It gave me something to think about.  I’m not sure what the thinking was behind that remark.  And I have no desire to cast stones.  But it bears thinking about, doesn’t it.

I’m set with a certain set of thoughts about this.

1. At least I try to communicate the Gospel to the general public without fear.

2. There will come a moment when earth is behind me and the things of God will open up before me, and that forever.

3. What is it to me if I’m not popular in this life?

Those are items of thought that ran through my mind.  I have no idea what percentage of Christians feel bold enough to speak to the general public.  And I guess I’m not anywhere near the “norm”.  I was born a loner.  Most folks aren’t.  I was an outcast since I was in 1st grade.  That’s where most people begin to make life long friends.

So it’s no boast to me that I type away like this.  I was cut out to do this since I was a lil kid.  And I know that if you have a lot of friends in this world, most people don’t really want to lose them.  I got that.  But when we see the Lord face to face, I wonder if many will wish they had been more bold for His name’s sake.
