The only time a pencil can leave a mark is when it’s held, placed on the paper, and pushed around. The pencil doesn’t want to write it’s simply able if the right circumstances come upon it. The pencil doesn’t know it can even write at all, but that’s specifically its only use. That is exactly […]
I’ve heard people say they despise AI Christian music. Their reason for the hatred is that it’s all AI generated and that there’s no soul within it. “Where is the Holy Spirit in this“? In part, I agree with them, but I have something they apparently didn’t think about when they said that. Where is […]
Nothing in this world has the proclivity of upper movement. Everything in this world moves down to the dust. A person has to fight tooth and nail to gain a quarter inch up, not to mention maintaining what altitude they just accomplished. Humans have to fight tooth and nail to maintain. Here is the truth […]
The very next moment: Less than 1000th of the time it takes to blink an eye is like a cliff to a bottomless pit. Because we’re so used to making our way to the edge of that cliff, we rarely think about our demise. Living our life on the edge, choosing to revel in the […]
What is the anguish of hell? The Lord Jesus described it as a fire.He described it as a worm that never dies. And in Matthew chapter 8, verse 12 we have this: 12 “But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” I […]
We have two great Pyrenees dogs. They are absolutely beautiful. They love without question but put a piece of food, one piece, down by the two of them and the two sisters will growl and fight over the piece of food. One word from me and that bitterness stops. Why can’t the people of Christ […]
Put a blob of paint on a white piece of paper. Put a night crawler into the blob of paint. Watch what the worm does as it moves around, the marks it makes. That’s a person’s activity on this earth. If by chance it happens to resemble anything intelligent, it’s only a matter of chance. […]
There are millions who would tell you they’re not concerned about the judgment to come. I have met quite a few who say “I will take my chances“. Such souls are absolutely oblivious to their own sinful nature somehow thinking 50% is good enough. Here: if you want to really see what your percentage of […]
What’s it cost to be a nice guy.? Especially if you have things extra you can give. What’s it cost to be a holy guy in Christ? Regardless, the things you used to own.
What is sinner gonna ever say to sinners that what he firmly believes in Christ might be imparted to their souls? Nothing. How is a man gonna change the ratio between the utterly depraved and helpless worthlessness of man and those who have been made to understand the grace of God? He’s not. These words […]
It doesn’t really matter how “popular” a true Christian witness is. Our center of attention needs to be giving glory to God Almighty. He’s our reason for writing. If that is what we do, we have done God’s will in witnessing to all that He has done. If we care more about someone’s “remark” or the stats page, our eyes might be drifting away from all that God has done and can do. You know “who” tries to take our attention off of Jesus and con us into dwelling on ourselves. He’s known for being sneaky.
God’s word is filled with examples of unpopular witnesses — they all had their mockers and critics — but not a daily stats report. God works in ways we cannot fathom and most of the time we don’t even have a clue what He is doing or how He is working. But, we do know that He works all things for the good of those who love His name.
I’ve been appreciating your posts and hope you keep writing for our Lord.

A strong reply, and a welcome one.
I think I’ll grab my knack sack, crawl up on my wiggly ole legs, say “bye” to “Ponder Creek”, and waddle my way back to cuneiform stylus and clay.
The place I was sitting is a well worn spot. I’m sure even Enoch sat there once or twice. And I’m sure a passing friend reminded him of what’s important also, for I did wonder about that curiously less worn path along the road here.
God blessings in Christ to all who offer a tidbit of focus to the pondering saints. The soothing sound of this creek is less attractive than the rushing sound the Water of Life makes as we listen to instruction.
By His Grace.
