“Get a Room!”

You cannot take your love of God to the bank and ask for money.  You can’t tell them how you love God and expect them to hand you over $10,000.  That would be considered an insane attempt.  You’ll likely meet the men in blue in just a few minutes.
But I have seen that I cannot take my love for God anywhere and expect people to love me.  No, curiously enough, I am forced to keep my love for God suppressed when I’m face-to-face with another man.  To open my soul before another and openly praise the Living God’s Holy Son is often considered obscene.  Almost like they say, “Get a room”.
But I know of a place where the praise for the Living God will shake the foundations of Heaven.  Who knows how long that celebration will last.  Joy and love, like man has never seen, will fill the hearts of those who love the Lord Jesus.  They will sing and dance, yell and laugh.  They will hug each other with abandon.  And no one will ever be ashamed of His Holy name again.
This is a war zone.  A war of belief.  The question between the enemies is this: “Who is God, Man or Jesus”.  Choose your answer carefully.

“Where’s the Glory!”

You can’t live with me in the truck.  For one thing, there isn’t room.  You can’t find your daily meal from cans of soup and beans.  The stove and refrigerator would be jealous.  You can’t be isolated from Humanity but for an occasional confrontation here and there.  6 days a week.  Then home, as a stranger.

No!  This place is for me.

But don’t you have your own, your house, your family, your home.  And isn’t THERE, things “Too much for you”?  Don’t those things clamor like tiny chicks noisily begging for worms.

No time for rest, or your glory will die.
No time to compare,
“Who has it better than I?”

Should we think that the Glory of Christ in us is limited “someplace else”?  Is it right to think that if you were someone else you could bring him what is Honorable?

If you did all the things that a day’s work demands.  What would be said of you?  What would be said of your Lord?  What right would you have to speak among the people then?  And wouldn’t your diligence, honorable and true, be speech enough; not only visible but audible in deed?

His Glory stands waiting in your “house”.  Be dressed.  Serve.

Unnecessary Slaughter

The Army brought an impressive and massive array of weapons to the war front.  When they had set them in place, their enemy cowered in awe.

Seeing that they had achieved a ceasefire by their display of superiority, the Army dug deep trenches and gathered themselves within them.  There they pleasured themselves with conversation and delights that they had brought with them.  Less than an eighth of a mile from death, they celebrated, relaxed, enjoyed each other’s company, and fell asleep at nightfall.

During the night the enemy sent out spies out along the front.  The spies took note that the threat was not real.  When they returned and told their commander what they had found.  Then, all hell broke loose against their enemy.

The night was lit up to the eye and ear.  Explosions made the night sky look like daylight.  And the sounds of terror could be heard an eighth of a mile away.  When the dawn broke over the battlefield, all that was left of that impressive array were smoldering heaps of wreckage.

Is this what modern Christianity has done?  Have they brought the massive power of the Living God in Christ to the war of this world, only to huddled in their expensive palaces?  While they should advance without fear, they throw a garden party!  While they should be wielding the Eternal words of God, boldly and defiant against the lies of this place, they enjoy each other’s useless dribble of Chit Chat.

Yes it makes me irate!

Judge for yourselves what is right.

Chilli Perfecto

Praying for someone to become a Christian.

It’s like this:

You want to make a perfect pot of chilli  If you want to get the most out of your ingredients, you’ve got to let it cook for a long time.

Throw the stuff together with a lot of water.  Put it on slow burn, and be very patient.  Realize that every minute that ticks by , the chili gets better and better.

You have to watch out for it; you have to stir it quite often.  You don’t want any of it to burn in the bottom of the pan.

Prayers and the Lord’s work, in that person, need to be focused on perfection not speed.  And what good is it if you try to serve the chili too soon?  Have confidence.  It’ll taste great!

We have to realize that some people just don’t have enough ingredients to make a really large pot.  Some folks are only going to be able to make one bowl.  Some folks make a smorgasbord out of it.  The point is, great chili takes time.

To Desolve an Impasse

I am so consumed with the things of God and eternal life for all men that I cannot compete in the expectations of the world.  Likewise, however, the world is consumed with its own expectations so that it cannot compete in the things of God.  Thus an impasse.

Because of the lovely blessings of God I cannot go to the world’s ways.  And because of their perverted definition of the word love, the world cannot come to God’s ways.  God’s love constrains me.  Man’s pride constrains them.

One of the rules of man’s pride is civility.  Because of this rule, they retain me in the social position of my birth.  But they have no regard for my open love for The God who is saving me.  I cannot hold this against anyone, for wasn’t I just like them.  But how shall this impasse the broken?

It needs first to be said that the pride of man will find an end in the grave, while the love of God goes on forever.  But this cannot be an acceptable break in the impasse, while God and myself (Because of his love for me) desires so many to be with us in Paradise.

Jesus told us that many are called but few are chosen.  “But no my Lord, they will surely die.  Truly, can nothing more be done to save their souls from your promised destruction?”  Yet does he not desire willing hearts to love him?  Thus the impasse continues.

Speak, lead, display, love, and groom.  Who knows, perhaps they will see and live.  How many of the Israelites that were released from bondage in Egypt entered into the Promised Land?   Though they saw magnificent sights, heard wondrous thundering sounds, ate of Mana, and enjoyed such marvelous blessings, still they all died apart from the promise.  The impasse holds little hope of rending here.

Yet what other hope is there?  The Living God cannot allow rebellion and pride into eternity.  And no member of The Eternity desires that God should forsake purity.  No, rebelion belongs destroyed.  And pride must be crushed, eternally reduced to nothing.

I surmise that the impasse belongs to Man.  It is man who demands to have his own way honored by the Living God.  Yet it is God who sent his only Son to be murdered for the sake of Man’s salvation.  Yes, the impasse belongs to man.

I love my brother’s of Flesh.  I do not want to see them destroyed.  But the choice is not mine, is it.

Since God in me is contemptible by those who know me, it is given to me to write.  Doesn’t familiarity breed contempt?  “We know where this man is from.  We know what a fool he has been.  How can he now think he knows God better than we?  How does he dare presume to teach us!”  And so pride loves contempt in the presence of familiarity.  (and by their contempt they prove they do not know God)

There is so much to say.  But I confess my writing is somewhat curtailed for the lack of apparent audience, why speak if no one listens.  I imagine that I could well have written twice this blog’s volume of words, if only I had perceived that some benefited.   But don’t statistics defy imagination?  Almost seven years of writing have produced a virtual flat-line statistical range.  Perhaps you can see why I have wondered about the productivity of his words in me.

Please don’t misunderstand me, I am not complaining for a lack of audience.  I simply see a lack of inspiration to increase the pace of this work.  Yet isn’t that lack within me.  And isn’t it then my duty to seek out inspiration from my God?

By his grace I will find the strength to write.  For haven’t I determined here that there is no other means to break the impasse?

There is an article I was allowed to write two or three years ago called “The Craftsman”.  No, I haven’t forgotten it’s premise.  It is impossible to forget something that is with you everyday.

The Ultimate Object Lesson

Are you ready to get your brain full this morning?

I keep saying that we should “think eternity”.  And I promise that the more you do, the more you will be ready on the spur of the moment to speak about Christ your Lord.  More and more, you will replace the fear of evangelism with an excited desire.

Here’s the ticket for the ride of your life:

Absolutely everything in creation speaks to us of the Son of God.  From a pencil and eraser to the depths of the sea.  Every conversation people have.  Every single thought that goes through our minds.  Everything we love and everything we hate.  Everything we use and everything we are willing to destroy.

If you make it a habit to think about it, the association between the common and the Holy will come to you in a split-second.  The real plus here is that it takes almost no discipline at all.  I guarantee you the Lord is willing to help us understand.
