At “Least”, There is Hope

I had a very short dream this morning.  I and some loved ones were cleaning the house.  I don’t know what I was doing but I was not cleaning I was organizing or polishing or something.

Someone sent someone somewhere else to do something else and I asked to be able to go clean.  The newer member of the family said to me, “Are you sure you want to do that?  You don’t do well when it comes to detail”.

His comment was true and it cut my heart like a knife.  I woke from the dream and did not go back to sleep.

For hours this morning I have pondered the meaning of this dream and it is not obscure.  In fact it reveals something that all men struggle with.  And though that is true it is not less painful to speak of it.  In this topic there is no safety in numbers.

There are great men and there are small men.  There are some who are able to do wonderous things, and there are some who can barely learn to tie their shoes by themselves.  The pitiful thing is that the majority of us fall somewhere in between.  We are neither great, so as to be praised nor small, so as to be coddled.  Most of us are forced to accept who we are, silently suffering a peculiar loss.

Please forgive the length of this article, but there is more to discuss.

In this world we have tribulation.  Men will push each other out of the way.  Men will kill one another.  Men will despise one another.   And men will trample one another.  You will be told you don’t matter in a variety of ways.  And if by chance this “telling” falls on truth your shame is within you.  So their attack is far more painful than they realize.  Yes, in this world we have tribulation.

If this were the extent of our being who could stand to live another moment.  But there is something that is so much more than flesh.  There is a life that is not full of tribulation.  And without further adieu, I introduce you to Jesus, The Son of God.

He will accept you specifically as you are; even as you grow in Him, or possibly regress from time to time.  In him there is no abuse because you are not the greatest.  There is hope for every one of his people to become what they envision they are able to become.  And where do his people get their vision?  They receive from the Word of God, the Bible

All that the Lord asks of us is that we continue to try.  Now someone may ask me, “Try what”? Let us allow the Lord to speak on his own behalf in this matter.

“He has shown you, O mortal,
what is good.

And what does the LORD require of you?

To act justly and to love mercy

and to walk humbly (prudently) with
Your God.  (Micah 6: 8)

And if by chance you find you are unable to do any of those three, the living God is quite able to teach you how.

In Jesus there is freedom to be least, as well as freedom to be great.  Only bring him your desire.  Only believe in him.  Only wait on the Lord.

The Living Art of The Living God

I see the young man.  He strides about like a little superman.  He will never loose, and if he does it’s not a fault of his.  (he’s only got a few moves to perfect.)   I look at him and remember, “Let us make man in our image”.

Please everybody, notice the young woman.  Isn’t that what all the “bling” is saying?  I look at her and remember the women I’ve met who were in their 80’s.  The bling wears off, breaks or gets lost somewhere between the first born and retirement.  Weight and wrinkles replace the tools of wicked enticement.

Let them parade.  Who will affect their pageant of pride, flesh and greed?   But may God have mercy to teach them what they could not learn from elders: humility, holiness, propriety, mercy and restraint of desire.

I turn my eyes.  Even witnessing their wicked display of youth seems a sin.  Yet, even now, I remember my own years of utter folly.  How many and who had to turn their eyes away from me?

God is He who saves.  When He moves hearts are changed.  Where He is life sprouts up.  And Holiness attends His presence as a shimmering shadow of brilliant light.

May the Living God have mercy on the youth of America.  If not, they will die in the millions.  For what sin will ever find an audience with the Lord of Life?

A reason we can all understand

George didn’t want go to go the family reunion with his parents this year.  He was 18 now, and completely able to cook for himself.  His dad thought it would be a good oportunity for his awesome son to prove himself before having to strike out on his own.  Mom thought differently.  Go figure.

Mom reminded George about all the wonderful people that would be there, no effect.  She mentioned the zip lines, water park, and fishing boat.  Still nuttin.  She tried that ole mommy standby guilt trip.  George just laughed.  Then mom pulled out the big gun.  “Your great uncle George will be there.  He’s flying in from Russia tomorrow”.  George had heard great stories about the man he was named after, but he had never met him.  This announcement caused George to pause and consider.  But, in the end of consideration, selfishness won.  George waved goodbye as his parents the next day.

There’s no need to tell you about the things George experienced while his parents were gone.  You see, George is determined to become “someone”.  So his exploits alone would be quite bland to most.  No headlines here folks.  However, when mom and dad came home they had exploits enough to make up for George’s monotone life.

Seems uncle George was a massive hit at the reunion.  He showed up in a limousine.   He had 5 body guards, 2 male attendants, and a helicopter flew in just in case something pressing came up.

Uncle George split the darkness around the camp fire with tales of war, intrigue, customs of Russia, and all these tales were made to come alive by the man’s marvelous accent.  What a time his parents had!  And they talked about it for hours.

They told their son that “he” had asked about him.  And when they explained about the need to go it alone, Uncle just got this weird little smile on his face.  “I was in great hopes of meeting the boy.  I have some gifts I wanted to give him personally.  And I have purchased some land in his name.  No matter.  I will hopefully meet him some day”.

It didn’t take but a moment for the regret to sink into George’s heart.  But it took some years to depart.  His uncle was killed the next month in a political assassination.  The gifts, gone.  The land, gone.  But, most of all, the great man George never met, gone.

What does this story mean?  It means, simply, that we talk and talk about the glories of Jesus.  But you’re intent on staying here.  There is one twist, however, that can’t be made from the story.  You will see Him.  But you won’t be allowed to enter if you don’t accept His gift by faith now.  Won’t you PLEASE come with us as we assend the Hill of the Lord!

America’s Future

Considering how great the threats are which present themselves against the people of America, I have tried to give account of how involved with the things of God I am to another.  One does a task for the Lord.  Another does another task for the Lord.  One is given to provide for certain aspects in the family of God.  While another one is given to war in the realm of the spiritual, unable to deal with the issues of the other.  The Apostle Paul speaks of the “gifts of the Spirit.”

With this in mind, there are certain things we are all required to accomplish for the sake of God’s will for America.  God’s people in Jesus, who are named by God as His people, are the key to what happens next.  And this is summed up with the following Scripture.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”  (2 Chronicles 7:14)

It is appropriate to warn my brothers and sisters that there are two plans available in the hand of our God.  There is blessing for this land of America.  And there is horror to inhabit if we fail to heed this warning.  This is all I will say in regard to this.  May God bless our hearts to understand these things.

Hope Endures

Hope

Hope (Photo credit: baejaar)

Watching the events of the day unfold, my weak mind is not able to put them all together anymore.  Far to many events.  Far too many directions toward destruction.  It is as if chaos has dawned and is growing in strength.  If I had a white board the size of a house I wouldn’t have room to name the items in play lately.

A storm of lies littered with promises of gold stream from the mouths of liars.  The young flock to anything that is coated with the sugar of “importance”.  The wise speak.  But their voices are drowned out by dazzling messages of “Body over the will of God”.  A putrid stench is wafting through in the evening breeze.  Another step toward destruction, the anti-christ walks toward the promised war with the Lord Jesus.

I would not blame anyone for losing heart in the face of this onslaught.  I find it interesting that my heart remains steadfast in hope.  I cannot speak of these events anymore.  Those who listen to my words are distraught when they encounter the reality of our situation in the world.  And the worry and fear begin to enclose their minds as the words come out.

I wait now for insight from the Lord to create words and actions that portray the hope that lives within me.  As surely as Daniel did not worry as they drug him to the lion’s pit, there is no worry within me at the ugly pictures beginning to appear in the sky and land.

Hope is found in Jesus alone.  It has been so for thousands of years.  And it will not fade as the “horrible” unfolds.  The Spirit of Christ gives life and hope.  The spirit of the world cannot render the same.  “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”  (1 John 4:18)

Come Taste That The Lord is Good

Hope is a substance our hands have never felt.  All our senses yearn to embrace it, yet it resides too deep to touch.  The atheist will laugh.  But doesn’t he hope we will vanish?

Hope will not disappoint those who hope in Jesus.  His love is not like that of the world.  And even His people struggle to grasp this truth.  How much less do those who remain in hatred to Him fail to understand.  Still we who know Him desire all men to find this Hope.

Yes, we fight with words against the onslaught of despair which comes from those of “the other’s” clan.  But do not consider our words a condemnation please.  We know what it was like to be in the darkness you now inhabit.  If we are confused at your appearing it is because we can’t remember what woke us.  Was it yelling?  Was it infirmity?  Was it simply the message of a God who is willing to embrace the worst of all men?  So we try all means.

Come taste that the Lord’s Love is greater than all rebellion.  The door is open to all who will enter, regardless your state of affairs.  You don’t come to us, the Christians who speak loud enough for you to hear.  You come to the One who brought us into the Hope we possess.  Welcome awaits you.  And we patiently continue to hammer at your door of rebellious hatred for the One who is absolute love and life.

By His Grace.
