Yet to See His Face

Jerusalem

I miss what I never had.

Nor can I venture to that place.

The road to Emmaus lay broken.

The walls of Jerusalem broken down.

To sit on the grass and reach my hand,

Into the basked to retrieve;

A fish and a loaf in endless supply.

To enter the water at the care of a rough hand.

To rise above it to see the face of John the Baptist.

To hear the footsteps of Romans coming to take me to the lions.

To see the shadow of Peter heal a cripple who dared to believe.

I miss what I never had.

How could this be?

But I am sure what I never had is held in the hand of He who lives forever.

The nail scared hands of love will bear them for eternity.

What I miss I will enter.

I will yet see the face of He who loved me and gave His life for me.

I miss Jesus!

The One I have not yet seen but believe with all my soul.

Leave a message!

Leave a message! (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I know that others will have their own testimony.  But I am so filled this morning that I find it necessary to dump some words.  Rather than leave them clinging to the walls, dripping from the ceiling, or hidden in the carpet, I thought it good to place them here.

I am consumed with the things of God.  And I find it so beautiful that this causes me absolutely no shame.  In fact, I would rather that the consuming become a raging fire within me that will never quench.

As I said, I know that my brothers and sisters have the same testimony.  But I just couldn’t leave those words unspoken.

I looked to the right of the screen to see what tags I would connect to this post.  I smile as I look at them.   I say to myself, “Fine!  All of you are welcome to support what I say here.  Come take your place, that this message might be available to every possible search a man might make.  Isn’t that the purpose of this message?

May God be Glorified by His servant.  Though I may well be least among His people, yet I rise a million miles from where He found me groveling in my own putrid mess.  Glory to He who is the Living God!  Amen.

Electrons and Papyrus

Billions of trees fell.  Buildings were constructed.  Cribs were crafted for the children of the cutters.  Trinkets were carved to sell to men.  And papyrus was done away with when man found a way to make the saw dust receive ink and feather.

Since that day, the advent of paper, trillions of writings have been created.  Since that day billions of pages have been destroyed.  Most of those papers should never have been written, for they contained foolish, limited, evil, and destructive teachings and thoughts.  But we are aware that millions, perhaps billions, of them also contained lovely God born truths.

It’s our turn now.  We have this electronic paper to write on.  The wicked have noticed the value of writings.  Shouldn’t the people of God realize it also?

Blogs of wickedness abound now.  And a few of God’s people have begun their own response.  But there is room for far more of us to speak the truth.  You might not be comfortable with telling the world what you know about Christianity.  But let me give you a helpful kick in the seat of your pants, please.  I won’t put all my leg muscles into that kick.  Open a blog and write a post of what you DO know.  It’s fine to start with something as fundamental as “Jesus loves you.”  I guarantee that as soon as you post that, something else will come to mind.

The world is speaking lies with a very loud voice.  I urge God’s people in Jesus to respond with that beautiful whisper of truth which speaks louder than any man can yell.  Allow me an observation please.  If you don’t speak up, who will?  And how do you know that God hasn’t been willing to give you things to say?  We’re not dead yet.  Why not speak for the One you will stare at lovingly for eternity?  If the Apostles didn’t write, you’d be stumbling far more than you are.  And if we allow the wicked to outweigh our writings, where will those who are seeking the Lord turn?  It’s such a simple thing to write what we know.  So very simple that even a child can do it when it learns to write a letter or two:  “Jesus loves you”.

Glenn Beck and the “Two Witnesses” of Revelation.

(Since this entry was written nothing has come about to warrant its writing.  I will leave this post on my blog.  I see that a lot of people are searching for such things.  But I will remind the reader that prophecy has its place.  All the while, leading a life filled with the Holy Spirit of God is of vastly more importance.  While we search for what is to come, let us remember to live a life worthy of God’s blessing.  Prophecy will do nothing to help us as we stand before the Throne of Christ Jesus.  Obedience, however, will help us immensely.)

I just posted a difference in beliefs between Glenn Beck and the children of the Most High God through Jesus’ sacrifice.  So I feel a bit redundant bringing him back to my blog.  But something is transpiring which demands attention.

Glenn is planning to take his media power to Jerusalem.  It is his belief that he must stand with Israel in the coming days.  I pondered this move in light of the Lord’s plans and wondered how this might fit in.  Though I don’t have direct word from the Lord on this, I’ve come to a realization that might hold some water.

The current media ignores Israel, being quite liberal and ungodly in their approach to the world’s plight.  And we have heard of the two witnesses which will appear to testify to the world’s ungodly behavior.  It’s not likely that the current media would even notice them, given their present bend to sin.  But we are told that these two witnesses will be seen by the entire world.  Is it possible that Glenn’s move to Jerusalem (along with his powerful outreach) is a direct hand of God?  Perhaps the Lord is setting up the stage on which these two men will carry out their appointed tasks.

The following is the account of these two men from the book of Revelation chapter 11.  I present this, not as the direct word of God, as something for all men to ponder and respect.  God will move against the sins of this world.  How He will do it is only in our hands to watch.

1 I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers. 2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. 3 And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4 They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.”  5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. 6They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.

7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them. 8 Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified. 9 For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. 10The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.

11 But after the three and a half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. 12Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on.

13 At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

May all who seek life from the Lord through Jesus be made to wake.  The time is nearer now than ever before.  Do not get caught sleeping.

As a supplement to this post, I invite you to read Man’s Understanding of Holy Lacks a Bit.   (which is another post on my blog)

By His Grace.
