Glenn Beck and the “Two Witnesses” of Revelation.

(Since this entry was written nothing has come about to warrant its writing.  I will leave this post on my blog.  I see that a lot of people are searching for such things.  But I will remind the reader that prophecy has its place.  All the while, leading a life filled with the Holy Spirit of God is of vastly more importance.  While we search for what is to come, let us remember to live a life worthy of God’s blessing.  Prophecy will do nothing to help us as we stand before the Throne of Christ Jesus.  Obedience, however, will help us immensely.)

I just posted a difference in beliefs between Glenn Beck and the children of the Most High God through Jesus’ sacrifice.  So I feel a bit redundant bringing him back to my blog.  But something is transpiring which demands attention.

Glenn is planning to take his media power to Jerusalem.  It is his belief that he must stand with Israel in the coming days.  I pondered this move in light of the Lord’s plans and wondered how this might fit in.  Though I don’t have direct word from the Lord on this, I’ve come to a realization that might hold some water.

The current media ignores Israel, being quite liberal and ungodly in their approach to the world’s plight.  And we have heard of the two witnesses which will appear to testify to the world’s ungodly behavior.  It’s not likely that the current media would even notice them, given their present bend to sin.  But we are told that these two witnesses will be seen by the entire world.  Is it possible that Glenn’s move to Jerusalem (along with his powerful outreach) is a direct hand of God?  Perhaps the Lord is setting up the stage on which these two men will carry out their appointed tasks.

The following is the account of these two men from the book of Revelation chapter 11.  I present this, not as the direct word of God, as something for all men to ponder and respect.  God will move against the sins of this world.  How He will do it is only in our hands to watch.

1 I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers. 2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. 3 And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4 They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.”  5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. 6They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.

7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them. 8 Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified. 9 For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. 10The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.

11 But after the three and a half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. 12Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on.

13 At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

May all who seek life from the Lord through Jesus be made to wake.  The time is nearer now than ever before.  Do not get caught sleeping.

What We Believe Matters.

Political commentator Glenn Beck at the Time 1...

I respect Glenn Beck‘s “ministry”.  I know that in the world of media he stands out rather loudly for the best man can aspire to under religion.  Glenn will often refer to the doing of good on the part of those who care about what is right.  And I find no direct fault with the world seeking what is good.

But I hear something missing among his words.  Though it is good to pursue righteousness, there is a certain righteousness on this earth which man will rarely aspire to accomplish.  What is “good” among men might not reach to the “Goodness” of God’s perfect will.  Glenn is promoting that “We will be the key” to positive change toward righteousness in this world.  I am forced by the word of God to differ.  Man will never be the key toward the Righteousness of God.  God’s will alone can accomplish the eternal and therefore perfect Righteousness.

While Glenn will encourage others to reach up toward God for help, it is more on the order of “enlightenment”.  Perhaps it would best be summed up as, “Lord, help me do the right things”.  And in one respect, this is a right request.  If we are asking that we might understand and do the Will of God, we are in the right vein.  But if we are only asking that God bless the work of our own hands we stand slightly amiss.

This difference of belief could be considered subtle by most.  But in the end, only those who do the will of God the Father will be allowed entrance into His peace.  What is the will of God the Father?  To believe on the Son of God, Jesus.  To obey Jesus’ commands to do everything Jesus tells us to do.  We are not set aside to redeem the world.  That is to say we are not saved to retain human implements of freedom on this world.  We are embraced in the blood of Christ Jesus to be implements of the will of God.  It is quite possible that man’s freedom will be dashed by God.  And I find this latter idea holds a great deal more water than manipulating government policies so that we can do anything we please.

What we believe matters!  Who we obey and serve matters.  Believe in the directing of Jesus and you stand on solid ground.  Believe in the “goodness” of man and you stand amiss.

The Ark

In the building of a task there is a beginning and an end.  No one who builds according to a specific plan keeps building after the plan is accomplished.  A house has a place where it can be called “finished”.  You walk to the park, and there is a time and place where you can say you arrived.

Noah was told to build an Ark for the coming flood.  And it wouldn’t take a scholar to recognize that the building of an Ark did not go on for the entirety of Noah’s life.  There was a final peg pounded into the gopher wood.  There was a final animal which entered the doorway.  There was a final word spoken among them as the Ark lifted from its mounting.  And there were final things done as they left the Ark.  In short, the building of the Ark was a one time task the Lord told Noah to do.

This blog has reached that point.  The Lord has made it plain to me that I have arrived at the place where His work is completed here.  Through me, He has created what is now refered to as a “bag of seeds”.  It will remain available for His work.  This place is a tool in the tool box of the Lord.  He will direct people here as He sees fit.  I may add to it from time to time.  But the consuming fire to build is over.

The building of this place of testimony has been an absolutely consuming fire within me.  And I know it was of His doing.  Even as I read back through some of the posts, I’m amazed at the depth of ideas and words.  These words were not mine.  They were given to me that I might leave a place where the Father is Glorified through Jesus, my Lord.  All glory belongs to God!

As you read through these things it is important that you know these are not the words of a man alone.  I know that I interpreted what I saw sometimes.  But the vast majority of the writings are eternal.  And it important to note that these things are not to be considered Scripture.  There is, already, Scripture.  I have no desire to replace them.  It is through the Bible that you too will find inspiration to testify.  But itis  the Living God who continually provokes glorious testimony from His people.

I encourage everyone to write and speak the glory of God within them.  What are we if we don’t contribute to the salvation of men?  And what are we if we do not fight with all we have for the Glory of God?

With this post I conclude what was begun in me.  I will now live my life as if I had never typed one letter of this blog.  Not that I abandon the Lord and His will.  But this task is finished.

Father, I ask Your Holy hand to guard this place.  To keep Your work separate from me.  And to Glorify Yourself in Your work.  This has been a magnificent blessing that You have given this poor man to accomplish!  And I am honored to have served you in the building of this “bag of seeds”.  May the peace You had before the creation of the world return to You and Your people.  In the Glorious name of Jesus, I present you this place as it rightfully belongs to You.    Amen.

“The Way”

What shall be said of “The Way”?  The Way is a term God uses to describe how a man must live his life if he is to please his Maker.

Some say They Way is too hard.  That’s because they don’t want to let go of their self interests.  They are considering their selfish desires as more important than God’s ways.  To them, it is a hard thing to ask them to forgive others.  It is too hard to ask them to be merciful to their enemies.  It is too much to ask them to pray without ceasing.  And it is over their heads to ask them to worship God in Spirit and Truth.  The fact is, such people cannot worship God in Spirit.  For their selfish nature blocks the Spirit’s prompting.  And as for worshiping in truth, they are still living in the Great Lie.  What is truth to such people?

But the one who humbles themself before the Lord will know The Way is easy.  It is not man’s accomplishments that will cause a him to be acceptable before the Lord.  We begin by admitting that we are fools about what is true.  We ask God to show us what Truth is.  And when He shows us, we gladly lay down our foolish ways and spend a great amount of energy adopting that to our mind.

The Christian is one who has admitted they are not able to please the Lord.  And it must be said that it is the work of Jesus that makes us acceptable.  I’m not talking about the righteousness He brings us to that makes us acceptable.  It is faith in what Jesus did for us when He hung on that “tree” and became our perfect sacrifice.  It is Jesus who has been raised to Godship.  And He alone can make you acceptable before His Father.

If you’re one of those who think “The Way” is too hard, then you have my pity.  But it doesn’t have to remain like it is for you.  Summon every strength you have to become feeble before the Lord of Life.  This is the beginning of “The Way”.

Egypt, Snow, Sea, Headlights.

Screaming down a two lane road in a snow storm.  The road’s edge has melted into white.  Powder rushes like water across the road, causing it to look like the road is moving left.  Headlights blind through tiny wisps of visibility.  And I’ve got my hands on 60,000 pounds of steel and rubber.

The Lord brought me through without hardly a mentionable experience.  Thus it is for me, by His Grace.  But I thought of the Israelites being chased by the Egyptians.  Certain death was closing in.  The sand drifting all over their bodies and getting into their belongings.  Now the Sea blocks them in.  LOST!  “It would have been better if we had died in Egypt.”

But if they hadn’t left that place, they would never walked on the bottom of the sea.  If I had taken the freeway, I would never have experienced His powerful hand guiding me through the snow.

Today is Your Day

Today you are allowed to be anything you want to be.  Today, the Lord allows that all men can pursue any sin they please.  Today, you can commit murder if you please.  Today, you can hate your brother or sister human if that is what you please to do.  Today, you can steal that small item from work.  Today, you can say what you want about anything.  Today, you can break any law you wish.  Today belongs to man.

But there is coming a day where all choice to sin will cease.  That day is upon everyone who obeys Jesus in the Spirit of God.  Even though there are many who claim to belong to Jesus and continue in their sins.  But come your death or the rapture of the Church, all sin will cease.  Those who love wickedness will cease with wickedness.  And those who love righteousness will live with He who is righteous.

Today is your day.  But today is also a day of choice.  Jesus offers freedom from the bondage of sin.  Ya gonna take it?

By His Grace.
