The Great Expectation

Waiting for the baby;
The baby yet unborn.
The nursery,
White and glistening,
The future place of home.

Expectant siblings pace about,
Doing all they know to do.
Arms aching,
Ready,
Reaching out,
To embrace the likes of you.

Emerging like your brothers,
With joy,
You’re ushered in!
To spend forever
Dressed in white,
And loving none but him.

(For the children of the Lord)

Love Everybody

How many times I’ve heard it and knew there was something wrong.  “Love everybody no matter what they’re doing.”

According to sentimental value I would rate that about a 10.  But as far as truth goes I rate that below zero.

Love does not let you stand at the edge of a cliff and smile while you jump to your death.

Love does not ignore the truth of the Living God for the sake of your injured pride.

Love will gladly take your ridicule and hatred, for don’t you already hate the one who sent us.

Love is for life, eternal life.  Love does not cater to the pleasures of sin.

See the bee sitting on my jugular vein.  Wouldn’t the one who loves me brush it off quickly.  Should I despise him because his slap hurt?

God challenges us to love the sinner enough to sacrifice ourselves so that we may wake them up!  No, we can’t all just get along!

Gate Guard

“Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.”  (Hebrews 12: 14)

How easily we accept peace among the people, but disregard the holiness.

We pray that God will help us in our lives.  Are we then a blessing to God?  Or do we love Man and despise the Living Gods Holy command?

Is it possible we think we will be well received for these things?

Fine, we love those we choose to love.  But how quick we are to hate.  With that in mind, how can I say more and expect these words to be received.

Doesn’t pride stand guard over the gate of every man’s house?

Love -VS- Fear

Love has a name.  So does fear.  The first is referred to as Light.  The second is utter Darkness.  Where there is no light, the darkness muses like a toxic fume.  But even a lantern can dispel enough for a man to work.

Food for thought.

Will the Godly Stand Up?

A little boy was murdered by his mother.  She beat him  for hours until he died.

And so the talk around the coffee table will begin.  I’m going to put my 2 cents here.
…………………………

Many will say I have my head in the wrong place.  Many will say I have my mind is in a useless place among Man.  “So Heavenly minded that he is no earthly good”.

Define the word GOOD.

Remember these two indelible items:

“Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”

“Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”

Response to tragedy:

Does the ground care that it soaks up the blood of so many?  Do the walls and rocks care that they witness such great violence?  When the deed is done, silence rules as king.  What is left to do?

Mop up the blood.
Incarcerate the perpetrator.
Sentence from Justice.

What sentence of Man can mop up the regret of a life lived in violence?  What punitive action drives away the sorrow of having been an animal?  We throw them in jail.  We offer some meager counseling.  But nothing cleans the heart.

If they are released, have we done them any favors?  If they are put to death for their crimes, have we release them from guilt?

God Alone can clean the conscience.  I stand as one to testify that this is so.  Yes we live as prisoners because of the things we have done.  And isn’t Justice required for every man’s life?  (“As you sow, so shall you reap.”)  But the freedom to love comes from a Love that gives freedom.

Whoever has been forgiven much, loves much.  “But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”

I’m not asking us to disband prisons.  I’m asking us to have mercy.  If you can’t hug the murders, the least you can do is appeal to the One who can.  What kind of people do we say we are?

Is this too hard for us?  Of course it is!  But it is a simple matter for the Christ we say lives in us.

A question for us all:  who stands to gain more, the violent ones or the righteous?

Let us make proper assessments.  But let us be restrained from taking God’s rightful place of judgement.  “Do” the Gospel.

(Is the Gospel of Christ only reserved for those who do what is good?)

THINK ETERNITY

The Man, the Predator

I’m not sure how to begin this post.  But I do know what I want to say.  I’m saying this from one man to all other men.  And I firmly believe I have the backing of my Lord Jesus.

See the beautiful woman, the one you found yourself lusting after.  You remember all the delicate wickedness you let roam around free in your mind.  You know what I’m talking about.

Put that aside and pull up a chair.  Let me show you what the Lord showed me.

In the beginning he made them male and female.  But this was the limit imposed on their bodies.  Their soul has no gender.

Death comes and the body is laid in the ground.  But the genderless soul goes to wait for the glorification of our God in Jesus.

What are we doing?  We are persecuting another soul.  We do damage to ourselves, this is beyond debate.  But let your heart consider the following:
They did not ask to be female.  They did not ask to be an object of lust.  They want love and acceptance and freedom to live as God intended them to be.  What right then do you have to destroy their desire?

I speak of these things from their perspective.  Every beautiful woman has a man close behind her.  She doesn’t have to guess.  She doesn’t have to turn around.  Can you imagine the feeling of being watched by a predator everyday of your life?  Who are you to inflict such fear on another?

I do not need to speak to you about the judgment to come.  That place where every man will give account for what he has done in the body.  I speak to you as a fellow man.  Curb your lust!  Stop being full of murder.
