You Don’t Know

You don’t know what you’re doing

When you avoid the things of God.

When you count them as trash on Wednesday;

“Castaway! I’m glad it’s  gone”.

Somehow you think it’s your duty,

To stay God the length of your arm.

You toss away His riches,

For you think he means you harm.

Then you flounder in your poverty;

Embracing hopeless travail.

When all he wants is to lift you up;

To silence your muted wail.

How great the riches of Christ in us.

How marvelous his love.

When once, like you,

We thought little too

Of God’s gift sent down from above.

But let our soul find him near,

And there’s no dam to stop the tears.

He chases out all our frantic fears.

Unspeakable, is the way he loves.

He appears without our asking.

We find our heart free of trouble.

No longer caught up in wasting;

We are freed from all our rubble.

But you don’t know what joy you miss,

As you forsake his gentle kiss.

How can I urge you more than this?

His love is free for taking.

The Perfection of Holy Forgiveness

It’s amazing how some things dawn on us ever so slowly.  We think we understand but we do not know as we should. Many people would call humans rather intelligent.  I am forced to think otherwise.

The comparison men use to grade themselves on intelligence, is born in the sea of men (the sum of which could be compared to a jellyfish).  But compare our intelligence to the Most High God and His holy son Jesus, and we fall so far short we are not even worthy of mention in his righteous court.

We all make mistakes on a daily basis.  Many of those mistakes can be referred to as sin; for we knew better but chose that way anyhow.  Can God forgive our sins?  The answer is “absolutely”.

It just dawned on me today how that can be so.  Duh.

The Lord has allowed me to be with and love an absolutely wonderful woman.  She knows my faults but chooses to overlook them.  She is full of discretion and does not speak of them to others.  She makes no excuse for me, but she buffers me against what could be an enemy.

If she is such a wonderous human being and yet falls so far short on the intelligence level, (As do we all.)   How much greater and more discreet is the sweet love of the Son of God?

Certainly something to ponder when doubt overshadows our forehead.

The Sharing

Reluctant to love.

It looks like a man.

But a candy bar, still wrapped, looks like plastic.

Do you know what’s inside?
You might if you asked.

But what a thoroughly dreaded task.

Soul or sugar; you can’t taste either without unveiling.

Why has our mind a taste for the sweet, yet our pride denies The Sharing?

One man percieves God as hideous monster; full of Holy law and demanding.  Such a man does not know the law of God, he only knows his own hideous sin.  He attributes what he knows to the Holy One.  “Surely God is like me.  He will strike me with death when I die”.

Explain to him that God is love, and out of the fear that is in his heart, he will nod in agreement.  But there is no agreement in his soul.  He keeps on in his way because he sees no hope of any change.  If God is cruel then he is a dead man, even while he lives, and he knows it.

To another man, God is purely love.  In this man’s mind, God throws His own Righteousness and Holiness aside to embrace the sinner.  The man perceives that his sin will be erased by some miraculous working of God. 

But he does not understand his own obligation to do “The Way” of Christ.  He perceives “The Way” is too hard to walk, but he does not consider the power of prayer in Christ Jesus.  This one hungers for acceptance.  He does not hunger for righteousness.

This man thinks he will be granted entry into the perfection of eternity simply because he exists.  Speak to this man of a necessity of holiness and righteousness, and he will count you a fool.

Still another man will perceive that God demands certain rituals from all his worshippers.  This man may have started out in Christianity, by receiving forgiveness for his sins, but he has studied the law of God and has determined to do the law.  This one will add to his worship “a little here and a little there”.  In the end, he becomes far less a Christian then before he began.

Each man holds the perception of God that he has grown to love dearly.  Some hold fear, some hold love, some hold law.  As a man believes so he does.

Each of the above ways is flawed, and will suffer loss.  How very sad, when the answer for wholeness in Christ lay so clearly before us.  If a man will humble himself and pray, God will direct him into what is true.

But men love sin.  Men love pride.  Men love praise.  All three of these, the Holy Most High God abhors.

You can have the perception of God you want.  No one will stop you.  They may try to teach you with all they have, but you will refuse.  You men, as mentioned above, will do as you please regardless the will of God.  The loss is yours.

What more is there to say

That is healthy to say? 

What is written here is true.  

What would you do?

Willing Heart

I tell you a truth.  I do not worship God because I am a righteous man.  I worship God because he has shown me how to love him. 

The world is mistaken.  They see God as a taskmaster, a demanding and angry Lord.  Even all the divisions in the Christian Church appear because of this. 

But man is horribly in error.  It is written, “Unless the Lord builds a house the builder builds in vain.”   The truth of that comes home when a man understands that the Lord is willing to build His Holy house within him.

I could continue with my own words but to no great advantage.  Let me place here a more beautiful way of saying all these things.

“Once I stumbled in the darkness
doing only as I pleased.

But, I wasn’t really happy,
And, my heart was not at ease.

I just didn’t have the willingness
to follow His commands,

‘Til I layed my heart completely in His hands.

If you don’t have a willing heart,
ask Him to give you one.

If you can’t seem to make a start,
Trust in His power.

For the Lord of Love is watching you,
He sees what you’re going through.

And, He can make a way,
If you want Him to.

Oh, do you want Him to?
… Then, tell Him so.

I have said it before.  But it is worthy of repeat.

The world legalizes and enforces a “love” that is no form of love at all.

 

“You will embrace every man regardless his doings or beliefs.  You will coddle every lie; that it might find a place to live among us. 

If you do not, there will be penalty.  You will become a subject of a “One World Perspective”, or you will pay the price. 

This is our formal and authoritatively legalized command.  All who reject this will live outside our protective “love”.  You will be set aside and put on display.”

 

Then, Sir, put me on display.  Make an example of me.  For I announce to you, that your definition of love is false.  It is full of error and destined to fail before the Living God.  On the day He calls all men before Him to give account, your way will be found wanting.  I will not bend to your command to lie.

I do not accuse you before the Holy Father.  I simply stand in His Glorious Shadow of Righteousness and proclaim to you what is true and faultless.  There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof is death.

There is a Love from the Living God that makes a difference between Righteousness and Lie.  This love will take its stance between God and man; between man and man.  There is a difference between those who love Him, and those who do not.

You have made your own laws.  You have defined the validity of words, according to the pleasure of your own wicked hearts!  God’s people listen to His definition of the very same words you use to express the lie of man.  There will be a distinct difference!

Righteousness is violent against what is wicked; by its very nature Righteousness cannot reside with lie.  There is no fault in Righteousness.  But you will fear it, for it threatens your “firm” foundation.

Let all who will, come to God.  Let understanding flow among men like living water.

You will certainly take this as a threat.  You fear everything you do not understand.  Your wicked heart is set to disregard everything Holy.  You define all men according to the darkness of your own hearts.

So be it.  You set yourselves as enemies to the Most High God.  Therefore, you separate the people of God as enemies to your cause.  So it is.  So it must be.
