Mystery to Marvel At.

Oh, Holy Lord, You are full of Truth.

We are of those who receive.

No truth lives in us, but that Your Holy Mercy dresses our hearts.

I came to eat at the table of the Living God.

Did my rising lie to me?  Did I wake to fill my belly?

Or was I wakened, that I might be filled for the purpose of proclaiming?

“Selfishness remains in bed.  But earnest desire wakes the soul.”

Life beckons,

“Come eat of the things that are good.

It is My desire that all should taste truth.

It is sweet to the soul, to breathe the Holy things of My Father.

Wake.  Wake and proclaim.”

How powerful is the sacrifice that has been offered on our behalf.  How unable to proclaim, are the words of man.

Do we truly understand the Glory of God in Jesus His Holy Christ?  How can we comprehend the Majesty necessary to accomplish the Holy Will of God the Father?  Yet He has done it!  He has overcome!

Jesus has carved that impossible Way, in this horrible wilderness.  Though this place is void of understanding, The Holy Christ has overcome!

The season is upon us to remember the baby.  But how can the baby be separated from the magnificent man He became; that God Man, The Christ.

I am filled with things I cannot express.  There is a vision of this Holy One which escapes my ability to comprehend.

I have not seen mysteries this morning.  I have been witness to simple truth: Every man is a liar, but God alone is true.  Every man merely receives.  But God alone can give Life.

Man comes to God with desire in his hands.  Though he gives the Living One praise, there is expectation within him.  Purity escapes us.

Which of us understood?  Who, of man, knew to ask God for that Holy Baby?  Yet God gave, despite our darkness of mind and heart.  Who of us understood?  Who could know to ask God that His Holy Son should be crucified?  Yet obedience was produced, through that awesome strength of Love.

Which of us understands?  Who has known to ask what all this means to us today?  Our bend to receive is so powerful.  All we perceive is need.  Even in our praise, we are held captive to need.  But the Free One has given of His endless resource called Love.

Mystery?  You want mystery?  Why?  When the simple Gospel of Christ Jesus is more than a man can eat in his entire lifetime.

Men look to prophecy.  They strive against the hidden things to unveil the “marvelous”.  How futile are such things?  When it is fully time, God will unleash answers.  But the Holy answer to our plight has already been unveiled!  Christ the King has been born among the enemies of God.  And words have been spoken, “It is Finished”!

Marvel at these things.

Hypocritical Honor

If I speak to receive the praise of men, can those words be words of God?  Yet if I am to speak words of any value, they must belong to the One who is eternally valuable.

I have seen how men praise one another for gallant and faithful action.  As if what is good can be borne among men.  If I join them in this praise where is my allegiance?  For anything that is truly good is born and borne of God.

Let the world praise their heroes.  I will honor, with worship, God’s hero: Jesus The Christ.

I say the following, knowing there will be misunderstanding: ‘I have come to despise the honor of men”.

Men honor the ones who do good to and for them.  As a man may lay down his life (to whatever portion) for his fellow brother, he is honored.

All the while, it is easy for them to despise the One who made them.  The One who truly loves them.  The One whom they have murdered.  The One who is shunned among them, even to this day.

Such honor of man is important among men, but only if it teaches us to treat The Living God with severe honor.  But this is not the definition used by men.

Men are paid to do what is good.  They are paid with money or fame; a type of immortality is placed on the mantle.  By this, men purchase honor.  Is it then truly honor?  Or does man hold one another hostage for the sake of reward?

But there is one who came, that he may do the will of the One who is forever Good.  Laying aside all possible human reward, he gave of himself without quarter.  What honor of man can compare?  Yet what distinct lack of honor men give him.

Every man knows this!  It is willing ignorance which keeps it hidden.  Willfully they are led to the pageantry of honor for those who are less than He.

They gladly stand at parades and wave their national flag.  Even a tear or two may be seen.  But mention the Living God’s Christ in a crowd of men and you will see them quietly disperse.  So man’s definition of Honor is defined.

This will not change until the Holy One is revealed.  But I am allowed to despise this hypocrisy of man.

Secret Christians

You heckle from the sidelines.

What shame belongs to you!

The one who is blameless, and purified,

Has willingly died for you.

And you!  You keep it secret,

That faith you say you have.

While he endured the scourging;

That bloody nail pierced bath!

What shame belongs to you who hide,

And hope it goes away.

You live with joy because you think

He’ll save you on that day.

You laugh and dine without a care.

You dress yourself in the finest fare!

All the while your fearful stare,

Identifies who you are.

At the Door

If you leave me like I am, I’ll be filthy, naked and poor.

The fear of that assails me, so I lay me at your door.

Oh wretched me!  Oh Glorious you!  The rumors MUST be true!

Or I will die a dreadful death; forsaken by even you.

Now I will to cause my hands to bleed by knocking on your door.

What great surprise comes to my eyes you demand not such a war.

“Stand tall my child, and enter in.  My body was torn for you.

Come taste and see that I AM good; my promises are true.”

Oh sweet One!  Now I find that rest my soul has so long for.

For all you ask is a broken heart, as we lay at your door.

Winning

The threshold necessary to win a race depends on the endeavor of all participants.  If all the contestants only render 70 percent of their potential, then the effort necessary to win is 71%.

But what shall we do if it is necessary for all contestants to render 100% whether they win or lose?  In short to win or die trying.

Isn’t this the nature of the gospel?  Isn’t this the necessity of the sacrifice of Christ?  Every contestant is required to obey the holy law of God the Father 100%.  Regardless their ability, the demand is perfection.  Regardless their willingness to give all, the demand is 100 percent.

Thanks be to God in Christ Jesus for the inexpressible goodness of His mercy.

Lamb of God (lyrics)

By Twila Paris

YOUR ONLY SON, NO SIN TO HIDE
BUT YOU HAVE SENT HIM
FROM YOUR SIDE
TO WALK UPON THIS GUILTY SOD
AND TO BECOME THE LAMB OF GOD

YOUR GIFT OF LOVE THEY CRUCIFIED
THEY LAUGHED AND SCORNED HIM
AS HE DIED
THE HUMBLE KING THEY NAMED A FRAUD
AND SACRIFICED THE LAMB OF GOD

O LAMB OF GOD SWEET LAMB OF GOD
I LOVE THE HOLY LAMB OF GOD
O WASH ME IN YOUR PRECIOUS BLOOD
MY JESUS CHRIST THE LAMB OF GOD

I WAS SO LOST I SHOULD HAVE DIED
BUT YOU HAVE BROUGHT ME TO
YOUR SIDE
TO BE LEAD BY YOUR STAFF AND ROD
AND TO BE CALLED A LAMB OF GOD

O LAMB OF GOD SWEET LAMB OF GOD
I LOVE THE HOLY LAMB OF GOD

O WASH ME IN YOUR PRECIOUS BLOOD
TILL I AM JUST A LAMB OF GOD
