“Yes!”

God says, “Yes“.  And he has engraved that Holy Word in the Holy Blood of his Holy Son across all creation!

He says “yes” to our desire to live forever.  He says “yes” to everything that is righteous and good.

If we do not live, as if he has said “yes” to us then, by whatever measure we fall short, we call him a liar.  It is established that God cannot lie.  So then who are we to refuse his answer?

He says “yes“, and so there is sure joy toward the promise of eternity.  He says “yes“, and so we become a righteous people in His Holy Christ.

The first is to believe and be set free from all the things that bring failure and shame.  The second is to “become” and overcome sin and temptation.  The first gives us strength to honor his Holy Name and testify with great boldness, even in the face of hatred and ridicule; even in the face of wicked and unholy doubt.

The second gives our testimony the strongest possible foundation.  This is the strength to stand with glory; that standing which causes men to wonder and marvel.  We become His “yes” before their very face

God has said “yes” in the very suffering and blood of His Holy Son.  He has said “yes” to the destruction of all who do not believe and remain in the filthy death of unbelief.   He has said “yes” to any man who desires righteousness from his Holy Hand, and looks for it earnestly.

How do we dare say no?  Let us combine our knowledge with faith, and rise up to give Him the glory that is rightfully His!

Let us not be like those who fell, dead forever, in the desert!  Let us be as the example of Stephen, his holy and righteous servant!

Together

I single white cloud drifts across the pale blue sky.

Does it bring shade before it dissipates and is gone?

Not but for a select few.

Later, it reappears with unity at heart.

It joins with its brothers at some other place.

They themselves become shade for many.

Now shade turns to rain and rain to torrent.

The tiny shade for some is dismissed.

But the gathering will be heard above the din.

It will stop man in his wayward tracks.

By compulsion, he will take heed.

What he dismissed, will announce its intent with violence.

A soft word becomes unavoidable.

Gather together and preach what is true with the strongest of intent!

Band together and glorify God in their presence.

Speak of sin and the beauty of his Holy Son!

Perform the will of God among all men.

Announce His Holy salvation in the places of men with great boldness!

Let our God be HEARD!

Proclaim and save souls!

Gird Yourself with Strength

Is the strength of the gospel to be at peace with the world,  or is it to be at odds?

Is the strength of the gospel strength to stand and testify?  Or is it only strength to hide?

There is death to self.  There is death to temptation.  There is the death of the body.  And there is death to the acceptance of the world.

Who will testify with power, who has not testified before?  Who will embrace their fear with a death grip; restrain themselves for the sake of His holy name, and fight like a dog over a bone, mindless of injury to themselves?

The strength of the gospel is a sound mind and fearless heart.  You don’t have to ask for it.  Just take it!  He will generously guide those who step out to fight.

This is the strength of the gospel you have received.  Do not be deceived by those who drink from the fountain of: “let’s all just get along.”

The Gathering

The gathering

Image via Wikipedia

Bob was at a social gathering.  While he talked with three of his friends, the subject of religion came up.  They had been talking about how some people just never seem to get it together.  How there are some who will forever be outcasts from society.  And, of course, the idea that God might be responsible for this was mentioned.  Bob said something about how it’s not proper to blame God for the failings of a few.

Just as he said “. . . not proper to blame God for the failings of a few”, someone walked by and heard that.  Without knowing what the conversation was about before, the passer-by stopped and lit into Bob.  It seems the interloper was very angry at God and just couldn’t stand to allow anyone to speak such a thing.  Before you knew it Bob was the very center of the entire gathering.  Everyone was watching and listening as the conversation got hot.

Then, without any real explanation, the interloper stopped and said with a calm voice, “Tell us Bob.  Tell us all what you believe about God.  You seem to have something we don’t.  May be you got a hotline to the Big One.”  The hatred just seemed to rise up like a cloud of steam.

What would you do if you had been Bob?  Was he ready for this?  Did he even have a clue about God’s stuff?  Regardless, here was his time to speak.  Every eye was waiting now.  And he has quite a few choices.   He’s on the spot now.  And the pressure is directly on him to do something.  Will he be afraid of losing his friends or speak the truth about how God is true and every man is a liar.

What is God to you?  What is your faith worth to you?  Besides the knowledge you might have right now, would you have stopped long enough to pray publicly before you start to answer?  Would you display the God of Glory with the words you’re about to speak?  Or would you just try to get out of the entire thing?

By His Grace.

Speak While You Can Speak With Freedom.

Who will allow the Lord’s word to be heard?  Shall we leave that speaking to those who are trained to speak?  Do you believe in the Word of God?  Speak what you believe.  Are you afraid to speak because you’re not sure you understand it all?  How much “all” are you waiting for?  And what will your lips speak when they are commanded to speak regarding the life He gave you?

By His Grace.

Regarding the “Way”

Here’s a healthy conversation about Christianity in action.
