Is Logic Truth?

Men love logic.  It is the foundation of their wisdom.  It is the tool used to create this computer.  It is what has created the automobile, air conditioning, nuclear science, and every other modern convenience known.  But is logic the same as truth?

Truth remains untouched by decay.  That must be so, for it is true.  What is true must, by definition, be faultless.  So is logic faultless?

Logic works.  If you apply 1+ 1, you get two.  If something that is not is compared to another which is, they are, by necessity, different.  This is logic.

But is logic faultless?  The answer must be a categorical “no”.

There are anomalies which logic cannot explain.  The very nature of things is too big for logic to comprehend.  Let us put aside the nature of physics, which nature seems to bend at will.  Logic does not reside with consistency in the mind of man.  He does as he pleases, whenever it pleases him to do something.

This was the primary subject of John Nash; the study of economics for the very purpose of logically quantifying the activity of randomness.  For the sake of predicting random behavior among men, he set out to provide formulas of reliable character.  Had he been able to succeed, this world would now be an entirely different place.  But all he was able to accomplish was to provide a more closely refined guess.

Marketing uses his ideas to compel sales.  Governments use it to get one step ahead of the populace.  Men use it liberally, whether they are aware of his work or not, to compete with that “slight edge”.  But is this spawn of logic truth?

Logic tries to quantify the nature of things while they are in decline, advancement, temporary stability, or promised by observable action to appear.  But this place where we live is constantly switching direction.  A man dies, yet a baby is born.  Sickness comes, regardless the intent toward health.  Accidents happen.  Bodies rot in the ground.  Trees fall.  Storms appear, do what they will, and dissipate.

There is a ruse of stability.  It is sufficient to compel belief in the reliability of logic.  But there is enough randomness to betray the elevated place to which men have lifted up logic.

Truth is like a restrained body of water which lay above a valley.  It is.  It is restrained for now.  But once let loose, all that appeared stable among the people of the valley is ripped away in a moment.

God alone is truth.  Logic is the “truth” of the foolish works of man’s hands, which he worships with great delight.

For now, God restrains His truth for the sake of testing souls.  But, like the body of water, once He unleashes pure truth, it will wipe away every possible contrivance of man.

You do not believe in God?  What is to be said?  You must worship something; that is the nature of man.  Do you worship yourself then?  Perhaps you worship logic, and what it can accomplish for man.  What is it to me what you believe?  I am here to testify that God is.  And to testify that He respects nothing but purity, humility and truth.

Those who looking the perfect nature of God with a humble heart, will certainly find release from the “things of this world”.  Those who continue to contrive their own nature of truth, will continue on the path of decay and destruction.

When God unleashes His Holy Flood of Truth, it will be far too late to make amends.  He who loves the works of man’s hands will worship those works.  Those who love the Holy work of God, will find humility, truth, love and life.  All men will make their own choice.

To the humble, God shows Himself.  But to the proud, God remains shrewd.

The Impending Wreck

One by one he connected the couplings.  Moving forward then backing up.  By the length of his day, 200 loaded cars stretched out behind.  To rest and prepare, he bid his eyes sleep.

Just before dawn the engine roared again.  This time not for idle speed.   Black smoke billowed toward 70 miles an hour.  His mind focused on what must be done.

It is too expensive to waste time fretting; what loss may come along the way.  Evening, and he will reach his destination.  He sets his mind like steel.

Doing all he can, the wheels pounding, whining, whirling.  A blast of noise pierces the air:  “I’m coming through and you can’t stop me!  Let all who bleed beware!”

Heed is taken normally.  But this time life’s awry.  There’s someone stuck upon the tracks.  This someone’s about to die.

What happens next is not worthy of words.  The judgement has come for one.  And in his wake great tears will flow.  What justice can be done, with words written here?

—————

O’ man, you are like that train.  You couple your days together with sin.  All day long you do what you think is best.  You have believed the lie that every man does as is right for himself.  Come morning you push the throttle full, mindless of what comes next.

“There is danger.  Yes.  But I am here, and I will do the best I can.  Competition demands my excellence.  And I will give it to them in spades!”

You do not let God guide you.  You do not submit to His Holy way.  Therefore you speed, with all intensity, toward the gates of hell.

Who will stop you now.  And how long does it take to stop the train?  Would it not be wise to stop as soon as you can?  Would it not be wise to slow down and consider?

“I do not have time for your nonsense!  I have babes to feed and clothe!  Away with you!  You distract me from my goal.”

What do you think the engineer would give to allow his prey to live?  What precious thing might he own that will dry up the wells of tears?  What repair can he make to put salve upon regret; that his ruptured heart may heal?  All the while you believe it will not come to you.

The Land of Shadows

Man, who are you; you who live in darkness and refer to heaven as if it is but a Shadow?  Because you have never perceived it, you deny it.  You accuse what is true, without thought.

You have never touched it, or so you think.  You have never seen it, or so you think.  You have never heard it, or so you think.  You do not know its dimensions or what it contains, or so you think.

You mock what is holy, without knowledge.  All the while you, who live in the land of shadow, unjustly refer to heaven as shadow.  By this you speak your own language.  By this you use false accusation against He who is Holy and true.

You contrive your own vision while ignoring what can be seen.  You invent sounds of your own to replace what can be heard.  You relegate the space of a building, that you have erected with your own hands, and call it holy.  There you have placed God.  And you will not welcome him in your streets or homes!  God is driven from your business for the sake of money and power.

You dress yourself with glory among men.  But you push God of as a popper and a beggar.  You promote what is vile, while you call what is holy vile.  How shall you be received?

The glory of God can be seen in the things that were made without your hands.  All creation testifies to life and faithfulness but you close your eyes.  “These cannot be truth they are not built by man.”  So you say.  And by this saying you retain your own condemnation.

The Word of God is present among the people but you refuse to listen.  You prefer the sounds of shadow.  And you sin against the Lord by calling the shadow good.  You refuse to listen to the words of life.  Therefore you remain a shadow.

The dimensions of your world end at the sight of your eyes.  What is within your world is not holy and good.  You know this but prefer to ignore.  Therefore you are blind.

Holy is a blazing, eternal life.  When it appears the shadows are dispelled.  Your eyes cannot stand the intensity of what is true.  Your ears cannot interpret the sounds of heaven.  And though you live your life of shadows within the holy God, you cannot perceive his dimension or nature.

Who are you?  Who are you to love what is shadow and ignore what is pure light?  You hinder yourself.

The door approaches.  Even as you live this day, it has come that much closer.  Soon it will engulf you.  And you will permanently leave this place of shadows.

Allow yourself to wake up.  Now is the day of salvation.  The sights, sounds, dimensions, and nature of eternity will confront you.  If you remain in shadows you will not perceive correctly on that day.   Though you will stand in the presence of heaven you will be locked eternally with blindness deafness and no ability to perceive.

Salvation is near.  You live in eternity.  For God lives forever, and this place of shadows is in his presence.

By his great wisdom he has created this place of blindness.  Frustrated by he who accused, it has become a land full of shadow and sin.  By this place he will know the heart of all men.  By this place he has proved his faithfulness.  By this place his Holy Son sits enthroned forever.

Will you mock him?  Will you continue to contrive your own heaven?  Will you remain apart from him?  Will you invent your own God?

Or will you stop?  Will you humbly ask for eyes that see?  Will you humble yourself and ask for ears that hear?  Will you throw away your pride and receive the knowledge his wisdom is willing to give?

A cloak is placed over what is holy, in this realm of shadows.  It is not to be perceived nor movable by man, without the mercy of God.  But to those who will humble themselves, and ask with consistent and earnest heart, the Lord reveals what is true.

The land of shadows today says, “We are better than those who came before”.  Prove to me then how you are dissimilar to all men!   You elevate yourself!

If you point to your toys I will call you a liar.  Your toys are not you!  This is a lie you embrace willingly, which is spawned from those who live in the land of shadows.

If you show me what is called the modern God, I will call you a liar!  For Jesus Christ is the exact representation of the Heavenly Father, and he is the same yesterday, today and forever.  Your modern God is nothing more than some rock you have carved.  With great pride and a lifted chin, you look down on what is true. This idol is a spawn of those who live in the land of shadows.

Testify!  Prove to me that you know the living God, and I will remove these words from before your face.  I have eternal confidence these words will never move.

You punish a man who in endangers others and himself.  You restrain him for his safety and that of others.  You chastise the rebellious among you liberally. Yet you balk at these words.

You consider these words harsh.  They are but the tip of a feather against the skin.  These words a testimony from a man.  On the day you are engulfed the approaching door, you will hear these words from the Holy One himself.  Do you think you will balk then?

Eating Worms

“The early bird gets the worm.”

Perhaps you have heard this saying.  If you have, it is likely your mother who has told you this.  She was trying to get you to take responsibility.

But as I watched the Robins this morning, I took note that they began to sing long before there was full light.  Just how early do they need to be to get the worm?

Is it that the Robins are the ones to search for worms while the other birds search for bugs or seeds?  In this case the saying is another name for Robins and their kind.  So much for a process of productivity.

My mother could just as easily have told me to become a Robin.  Though I do not give praise to myself in that I might have understood.

What strikes me more about the saying is that we use the vagaries to inspire one another.  By the nature of man’s limit we reach for things that are untrue to teach what is true.  It is not this way in heaven.

Here we must teach a child or an immature adult by using stories and half truths.  They are not capable of consuming the fullness of truth.  And even those who teach in the ways of the world are not fit to teach the fullness of truth.

I am simply struck by the vast chasm of difference between the ways of Man and the ways of God.

Pleasing God

Let no brother or sister in Christ believe that it is impossible to please God.  In the sum of our salvation, there is no sacrifice we can make to save our souls, for all belongs to God.  Yes, this is true.  And Jesus, the Word of God, has made the sacrifice for all men; fulfilling the entire Law of God.  Yes, this is true.

But God pleases God.  Isn’t that the gist of the Gospel?  And where God is, there is pleasure to God.  Isn’t that true?  And when God moves, there is pleasure in the Holy Throne Room.  Isn’t that true?  So when we learn to do the things of God willingly, doesn’t that bring pleasure to God?  So how can one intelligently say, “It is impossible to please God?”

I understand the confusion.  Salvational pleasure cannot be brought about by any man; fulfilling the Holy Law of God is impossible for anyone who has sinned even once.  Salvation belongs to the One who is unblemished.  But the living in the Holy Spirit gives great pleasure to the One who bought us by His Holy Blood.

Let us not take the words of others without giving them lengthy consideration.  They may have understood before they spoke.  And what they spoke may be faultless.  But has our perception come in line with understanding?

A man may think that to say it is possible to please God leads to pompous and errant thoughts of self.  Thus many deny the possibility.  But do they do God a favor by beating any possible joy from their soul?  Aren’t they trying to please God by denying that pleasing God is possible?

Why isn’t it better to live in the freedom of fellowship with Jesus?  Why isn’t it better to receive that Holy smile of pleasure?  Again, let us be careful what we include and disclude.

Delusion

The hardest thing I have had to learn is to put away delusion.  I find it is wrapped up in everything I think and do.  It is a false expectation.  It is an untrue belief.  It is a false hope.  A man may think he is something, all the while he is not.

A man may think he has achieved, only to find himself having fallen short.  He may think he has understood, only to be proved wrong by another thought or action.

A man may think he has done a good deed.  But he walks away not understanding what brought the moment to him nor what happens after.

A man may go to prayer believing he is accepted before God.  In his dilution he promises himself many things.  But he walks away unblessed for he lives in a lie.

Men may praise Him, or even express hatred for him.  The delusional mind perceives it wrongly.  For the first, he thinks he is a good man.  For the second, he thinks he is persecuted.  All the while he is no more or less than any man.

Delusion is a lie.  Delusion has everything to do with perception.  The man who perceives himself outside of truth is deluded.

The sinful nature thinks of itself outside of truth.  But the Spirit of God within speak only truth.  It has been the learning to listen correctly that has been the most difficult.

A man may well be willing to receive a beating for his wayward ways.  But is he earnestly willing to put error away and live in truth?

It has been difficult in my life to grasp the fullness of truth.  It will certainly be that for all men.  For we are raised in lies as children.  We are taught lies as we become adults.  We are expected to compromise.    we expect others to compromise for us.  And because of this expectation, we expect God to compromise for us. And all these boil over into dilution.  The man who lives like that has no right to expect to be blessed in what he does.

Transformation into a son of God is a difficult process for any man to accomplish.  And, in the end, it will require the majesty of God to complete the transformation.  For now we are given to work with diligence.  In the end it is God who will provide the transformation.

One item has been an exceedingly helpful insight in the delusion of sin.  I learned that God is, though  this learning is a constant difficulty.   He may know of the past.  He may know of the future.  But he lives in the now.  God is.

As I live in the now I find the delusion evaporating.  Living in the past is useless.  It has happened, yes.  But the past is not now.  Living with expectations for the future is also useless.  There are things that will happen, yes.  But they are not the now.  We hope in God and this is appropriate.  But we are given things to accomplish now.

The truth of God is.  The truth of God is the sum of what was and what will be.  Letting go of what was and leaving what will be to him, I find myself living in the truth.

Jesus is the perfect reflection of the Father.  Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.  Circumstances and experiences may change.  But he is truth because he never does.

This cannot be said of us.  For we were born in vile state.  And we must learn to live in what is holy.  The process can be painful, arduous and sporadic.  But if we are to learn to please the Holy Lord of all, we must learn to put away delusion.  That is to say, if we are to learn to be productive members of the family of God, then we must learn to put away dilution.
