Our Singular Purpose

“From the rising of the Sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.” (Psalm 113: 3)

In good times and in bad.  In sickness and in health.  Through riches and poverty.  Through gain and loss.  Till death are we united, The name of the Lord is to be praised.

He has set his way unmovable, he has established from Ancient of Days.  The creatures who were first, and the creatures who are last will encounter the same from the Living God.

There are the multitude who will praise Him; before, now and forever.  To join with them is the promise of the righteous; those who trust in the word of the Lord to the doing of it.

The rebellious will waste away and be no more.  But the living God, and all that is holy, will stand forever.  Praise to the living God in Christ Jesus His Holy Son will remain.  But the wicked will be confounded and lost in their terror.

Let all rise up against me, I will give praise to the Sovereign God through His Holy and Beautiful Son Christ Jesus.

You will do what you do by compulsion, you who despise what is holy.  The taller the Lord’s people stand, the more venomous the hatred of those who hate the Lord.  This also is unmovable in this place of testing.  Why then should we shrink and seek a corner in which we must hide?

Is the Lord hidden in his glorious palace?  Did the Christ of God shirk his calling?  Did he not submit to the Holy will of the Holy One and live?

Is the testimony of the righteous brought to us because they ran to hide from the onslaught of wicked desire?  Have they not lived faithfully for the glory of the Lord who has purchased them and for the testimony which is able to give us strength to testify now?

What will be the saying of those who come after us?  Will they say, “Capitulation has occurred.  The righteous obedience to the living God has been spurned by those who lived that day.”

If there are three who will praise the Lord, regardless their situation, then by all means let it come to be with great exaltation together!  You will not venture to service without me, oh holy brother.  And we will arrive in praise together.

Let our lips praise His name.  Let strength greater than Sampson’s come up on our souls to control the sinful nature.  In word and in deed, let our testimony blaze among men.  Let us fan into flame, blazing flame, the gift of faith and the gift of obedience.  Let a desire to praise Him consume us with holy zeal.

Then a testimony will be written for those who come after.  By this the Lord will provide, even as he has provided for us.  We have an obligation to him.  And in the meeting of this obligation we will have passed down what is ours to give.  We will pass down what is marked indelibly, “GOOD” .

May the name of the Lord be praised for ever!  He is righteous and true, faultless in all his judgment!  Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty; who was, and is, and is to come!

His appearing blazing fire of righteousness will consume his enemies.  And those who put their trust in the holy Son of God will stand firm forever.

Amen!

The Fabric of Life

Once a word is spoken, it is impossible to take it back.  The one who spoken it has ripped the fabric of life and placed his speech among the things that are.

Once an action is done, it is impossible to take it back.  It has ripped the fabric of Life and placed itself among the things that are.

So it is with sin.  So it is with righteousness.  It is delusional to think otherwise.

There is a place where God will sweep the fabric of life.  By His Holy will, he will clean all that is.  From that moment to eternity, wickedness will appear no more to rip the fabric of life.

Only righteousness will add itself to the fabric.  And life will prosper beyond the bounds of man’s imagination.

What is not God, will be done away with.  Though one may ponder and search for it, it will not be found.  This too will affect the fabric of life.  And it will be known throughout eternity that God has done this; by the strength of his Holy Son’s faithfulness, God has done this.

At that time an age will have come, and that age will have passed.  To which age do you desire to belong?

Shall you be of those who are swept away?  Or shall you be of those who eternally praise God for His strength and righteousness?  Will you be among the eternally dead or among the eternally living?

Do not be foolish and answer with what is obvious.  Any sane man can say he chooses what is best.  Rather understand these things and become.

The mercy in God’s Holy sweeping of the fabric of life, is toward those who love his ways.  His eyes of love are in his hand as he sweeps away all that kills, divides, hates, and detracts.  None will escape.  He will protect his own with frothing vengeance.

Jesus has provided the refuge for any who will come and take the promise of God that has been written eternally in His Holy Blood.  But who is wise among men that he will consider these things and forsake his wickedness?  Who will prove he desires to remain?  Who will forsake wickedness that he may live?

Pursuit of Desire

A man chases after the things he thinks are good.  If he is cold his entire mind, body and heart desire warm clothing.  If he is parched and overheated he will desire water, shade and cool.

The desire of man is a beautiful and useful tool.  And desire is provoked by perception.

Who perceives his own death?  Who perceives his heart is cold before the living God?   Who perceives that he is dying of thirst?  Such a man will desire the water of life God offers.

Warm clothing of eternity and living water for his parched soul.  If he does not desire these things but finds himself lacking, what wisdom can be said he owns?

Who perceives that he is parched and about to die for over exposure to the things of hell?  Such a man will greatly desire to live in the shadow of the Most High.

Men pursue what they desire.  What they desire defines what they pursue.

Young men pursue lust.  Old men live in their habits of lust! Who is wise among men to pursue eternal life with desire born of God?  Such a man will live!

Malicious Shadows

I cannot blame the Sun

For intensely being bright.

I cannot blame the moon

For shining through the night.

I cannot blame the wicked

For hating what is right;

For embracing all that is not God,

In his blazing Holy Might.

God Himself ordained the Sun

And gave it a place to remain.

The moon remains and serves him well,

Despite its shifting name.

God has given truth to man;

Displayed abundantly.

Account we’ll give on bended knee,

When his face we all will see.

This land is shadow and now proclaims:

“Your wickedness will end!”

When shadows cease and God appears,

No longer means to mend.

Malicious thoughts against the Lord;

A taunting threat displayed.

The great proud smiles of those who hate,

Their filthy lips, like tattered strings;

Unravel and are frayed.

Who has ears to hear these things?

Who has eyes to see?

Let him acknowledge Jesus Christ,

And bow his wicked knee.

Even so Lord Jesus come!

The Ship of Humanity

I am the only man who knows what has made me.  It has taken a lifetime to write the book I have become.  And it will take the perfection of eternity to read it.  This is so for every man woman and child.

I have been wickedness.  I have endured wickedness.  I have taught wickedness.  And with all this I have brought great destruction in my years.

Before I was saved I tasted some good things.  Some good things were done for me.  Some good things I did for others.  The difference between right and wrong was shown to me very clearly.  The perspective I hold was taught by unique variety of wickedness and truth.  Thus I have become a distinctly unique creature.

Regardless my head long plunge to death God has raised me up.  As he used Pharaoh to refine his children, so God uses the wickedness of men.  (If you do not know the story of Pharaoh you will find it in the account of Moses)

Many men believe that their wickedness belongs exclusively to them.  They think it is protection and gain.  They think they stumble about, wreaking havoc as they please.  But God steers the great ship of humanity.

Every man has become what he is.  Through a variety of sources he is made to be.  It is when he is awakened by the holiness of God, that who he has become becomes useful.

The hardness of Pharaoh’s heart grew from childhood.  There is no possible way he could know he was being used; or, if you will, set up.  Moses was sent to instruct him in the sovereignty of God.  And only God knows if Pharaoh finally understood before his death.

You, my friend, can be used by God.  He does not need what you have become.  But he can certainly put it to perfectly good use.

Perhaps you have been a gentle man.  God can use that.  Perhaps you have been a warrior against society.  God can use your rebellion.  Perhaps you have been one to fully involved yourself in the things of men, for the sake of perceived good for all.  God can use that.  Perhaps you have loved wickedness and inspired others to do the same.  You understand the ways of this wicked world.  God can use that.

God is in control.  Regardless the chaos of men, God is saving souls.  Why not let him save yours?  You certainly need him.  And he can certainly put you to good use.

The Indellible Message

trees and grassNo matter, if we sleep or wake, we are without excuse.  Every day and every night, God has left his faithful mark among us.

The trees remain. Even the dead of winter does not remove their witness.  The grass obeys our feet; bowing low at our passing.  The stars recede at the breaking of dawn; obeying the greater light’s command to depart.  And the moon reflects the glory of the blazing Sun, regardless our perception.

We know wickedness first.  But all creation knows obedience first.  This is the witness God has created as a guide.  This is the witness God has left among us as a testimony to the work of man’s hands.  Obedience to God remains.  Wickedness is fleeting.

The witness of God among us is firm and entrenched.  Though we tear it up to replace its beauty with the work of our own hands, we must continually fight to restrain its appearance.  Grass grows up in the cracks of our “beautiful” construction.  We must continually attack it to force it back.  Tiny trees grow against our will.  All the while, who perceives this battle as futile?

We ignore.  Perhaps we delight in perception.  We alienate God’s powerful will among us.  Or we respect it.  Regardless, God IS.  His Holy command has left us the loudest possible message.  “I AM.  I will not be stopped or stifled.  Listen to Me and gain eternity.  Refuse and remain in death.”
