Church is for Weaklings

Grass Seed

I remember how I was so easily manipulated into sin when I was young.  I knew a man who was encased in every form of evil a man might think of.  And I remember how I was shamed into participating by simple words.  He would refer to me as  “hay seed”.  And I was ashamed that I didn’t have the “man-up” to do what he did.  So I chased after the same things for years.

You might think of me as a lesser man for doing such things.  And I would readily agree.  But there is a sort of “man-up” happening all day long that never gets any notice.  It doesn’t have much to do with drugs, sexual immorality, or theft and such.  It has much more to do with ignorance regarding the things of God.  Are you being threatened with words like “man-up” and “hay seed”?  Are you threatened because you don’t revel in the same flood of dissipation as the world around you?

Sadness

Today there is a sadness over me.  People who know me know I am a Christian.  And they know that I am not ashamed to speak of my love for the Lord Jesus.  Yet not one of them comes to ask.  I have taken this sadness to the Lord.   He reminded me that this is the case between man and animal.  Even though a man means no harm to the wild birds, not one will come to him because fear.  This is the fear that was instilled in the animals at the sin of Adam.

Does this mean that the Lord considers the wicked as mere animals?  The answer is yes.  Isn’t this the charge against us all if we remain outside the Lord’s provided salvation in Jesus?  Yes.  There is transformation from animal to man.  But few challenge their own fear.  They know they do not have peace with God.  Yet they encourage one another to remain in fear by making up stories.

Does this knowledge help my sadness?  In an odd way, yes this does help.  Because it defines the reason for the cause.  But the pain of watching them contrive a false sense of security abides.  All the while I am among them and can reveal true security.

They speak of money, knowledge, social position, angel worship, every religious ritual known to man, and entertainment, as if they hold the key to the complete security of eternity; that security which blots out all fear.  Every lie born from the imagination of man receives great praise or even debate.  All the while they purposely ignore the Lord Jesus and His people who hold the Gospel within them.  So this sadness continues, yet is abated a bit.

A Black Blog

As black a picture as a camera can get. It's n...

I have turned the background of this blog black for a reason.  The times are nearing an explosion of sin like never before.  Those who have set their hearts to follow evil abound.  Each man makes up his own religion and will gladly destroy anyone who confronts their thoughts.  Pride of man is becoming the religion of the world as never before.  And they refuse to receive instruction.  Children are being made leaders of cities.

My blog is black for the horrors which are about to pounce upon man.  Woe to all who submit themselves to evil!  Woe to all who reject the truth in favor of the horrors they are now building with an intense hatred of truth.  Woe to man for what is about to unfold upon them!

Fermentation of Things to Come.

Glass Of Wine

In responding to things said by others, sometimes we stumble on words that speak of things a lot higher than our thoughts:

Bemoaning the onslaught of wickedness seen in the powers of this world, a friend posted his mind. ( http://shortfellow.wordpress.com/2011/10/13/come-quickly-lord/ )

The following reply came as fast as my stumbly fingers could cut loose of them:

What we are witnessing is the fermentation of a wine which the nations will gather to drink on that great day in the valley of decision. Let them gather their crop of wickedness. Let them press out all the filth they can drink. They are preparing a war toast. And they will gather together to toast to what they perceive as a victory against God.

Even so, Lord Jesus, come.

By His Grace.

Ah. To Know to the Doing!

Wacka' Mole!

I know how to tie my shoes.  I know how to feed myself.  I know a lot about the body and the world around me.  But what do I know about the Kingdom of God?  I want to know more.  But I don’t just want to know for the sake of knowledge.  I’m not intending to attend a trivia party.  I want to know to the doing.  I want to know what the Lord allows a man to know regarding holiness.  I want to be set apart from the ways of this world.  I want to honor His name!

Yet my heart is wicked and full of sins.  I quash one this moment, and another pops up a little later.   We are so horribly locked in a battle against what is pure and what is not pure.  I want to know to the doing of the Lord’s will.
