With Perplexity

“Are those gunshots in the streets?  Was that Ally’s 5 year old boy who was shot in the head tonight?”

Pay no mind to the violence.  Close your ears, close your eyes, close your mind, close your heart.  Go to your place of peace.

“Is that a nameless ignorant girl we see on the corner with a heroin needle in her hand?  Why that’s Bob’s daughter!  What a shame he lost control of his loved ones.”

Pay no mind to the violence.  Close your ears, close your eyes, close your mind, close your heart.  Go to your place of peace.

“What a pleasant place we have created.  What a beautiful place Society has made.  See how evil runs rampant at night, the place where we sleep in peace.  Who needs talk about God in our public squares?  We simply hire a janitor to clean up the blood.”

Pay no mind to the violence.  Close your ears, close your eyes, close your mind, close your heart.  Go to your place of peace.

“Who needs faith in Jesus when we have locks on our doors?  Who needs the power of God’s words among us, when all we need to do is move to the suburbs?  Who needs the miraculous intervention of the Holy One?  We have our laws and ways.  Let the wicked kill each other, we will sleep in peace.”

Come my brothers and sisters.  Count God as dead and useless.  Ignore the coming judgment.  Surely the wicked will find a place to live.  The loss of the Gospel among us in public is no loss at all.  It has proven, in fact, to be our blessing.  Even take notice that the righteous observe a restraining religion.  Who needs the gospel of Christ?”

As you say so it shall be.  As you do, it belongs  entirely to your home.  As you have failed to believe, so you will perceive.  You have chosen to build a paradise through the engine of fear.  You spurn the one who gives you a paradise by the engine of Eternal strength.

So be it.  Let all the nations turn with perplexity to the violence and blood in their streets.  See how they relegate obscurity to the Holy Words of Blazing Eternity.

So be it.

May your will be done Sovereign Father.  Prepare the place of contest.   Your Holy Son stands ready to deliver your will.  Your Righteous One, prepared to move at a moment’s notice.

Let them have their way until they are sure you are no more.  Then He will appear to their shock, amazement, and horror.

The Glory of your Holy ways is from forever to forever.  Rebellion cannot see you.  Let them puzzle their fate.  They choose their own way over yours.  Indeed, let them puzzle their fate.

Amen!

Desire for Cleansing

I have noticed that the more familiar I am with the righteousness of God, the more blatant the wickedness of this world appears.

And the more aware of God’s mercy I become, the easier it is to look past the profane.  It’s not as if I don’t see it any longer, but it’s more like I can more easily ignore it.  Like the man who constantly lives with a barrage of flies, you kinda get used to the irritation.

People can say what they want about Lot.  They can ridicule his choice of dwelling.  But I understand what was written about him; how his righteous soul was tormented, day and night, by the wickedness he saw all about him.

How I wish the American church would put away the soft soap gospel, and bring out the bar of lye.

Pagan Frivolity

Such a carnival of wonderment;
Everything Man.
Glitzy things proffered by his own tiny hands.

Eye candy people milling about,
Expressing their joy with a visual shout.

“We are one!  We are vibrant!  We will last till we are gone!  We build desires legacy, that our children might pass it on!”

Godless and happily so
They strut through the night;
Down into deep darkness
Toward that great unseen light.

Even so, Lord Jesus come.

No Punishment?

They say, “Look I have lied and nothing has come of it.  God has not punished me.  I am perfectly sound of body and mind”.

By this they go about lying without fear of punishment.  Could it be that the punishment is not physical?  Could it be that the punishment comes in the way of denial; that the Glory of God is distant from them?

They lie because it is their nature.  And the transforming power of God to be faithful to truth is distant from them.  But they don’t see this.

Their eyes are on the things of this world.  They expect the things of God to appear in the same way that a man will appear.

God is Spirit, man is flesh.  But the day will come when every man is no longer flesh.  On that day everyone will appear before the Most High God and receive the just and full punishment for his wickedness.

By their lack of punishment, men even have gone so far as to say there is no God.  But look how blind they are to what is forever.  Look how they fail to to take into consideration that God has never lied, from forever to forever he is true.

There is the gospel; the sacrifice of Christ Jesus for every liar.  But let this article simply point out our need for the gospel.  The words of Christ are not far from us.  Go and search them out.

Indelible, Unavoidable, Undeniable

Though we clean the windshield, the Yellow Jacket is still drawn to the smell of death that remains.

Though we conveniently forget the things we have done, the stench of our sins accompanies us to the Glorious Throne of God.

We will all stand without excuse to give account of ourselves for the things we have done here in this body.  And it doesn’t matter whether you believe these things or not.

I don’t say this to frighten anyone.  Let it simply be a fire of encouragement.

Righteous wisdom radiates from the Living God.  He gives freely to anyone who will believe.  Make no mistake, the righteous wisdom which God gives freely directs the soul to Christ Jesus His Righteous and Holy Son.

We either prepare ourselves to learn and do, or we are prepared beyond our volition to appear and give account.

Let sobriety be the banner of our days.

When the Sun Rises

Many who think themselves to be firm Christians are compromised.  This is not suspicion or an attempt at slander, this is the way it is.  While they embrace many things of Christ they also embrace many things of the world.  We are told that such lives will suffer loss.

On the day when Christ rises to judge his people, many will realize for the first time that they had compromised their lives.  Sucked into the lure of unholy depravity, many perceive the things of this world to be beautiful.  Will that perception remain when the loss they are to suffer is presented to them personally?

As we keep our mind focused on eternity, that is being in the presence of the Most High God’s Holy Son, the glitz of this world tends to lose its pull.  Isn’t it written that we should not be deceived, but that a man will reap what he sows?
