There are millions who would tell you they’re not concerned about the judgment to come. I have met quite a few who say “I will take my chances“. Such souls are absolutely oblivious to their own sinful nature somehow thinking 50% is good enough. Here: if you want to really see what your percentage of […]
What’s it cost to be a nice guy.? Especially if you have things extra you can give. What’s it cost to be a holy guy in Christ? Regardless, the things you used to own.
What is sinner gonna ever say to sinners that what he firmly believes in Christ might be imparted to their souls? Nothing. How is a man gonna change the ratio between the utterly depraved and helpless worthlessness of man and those who have been made to understand the grace of God? He’s not. These words […]
What if: What if there was no such thing as PTSD? What if the memories of tragedy, self imposed or otherwise, simply didn’t exist. Who would we have become? But PTSD is excruciatingly real. Memories stand in line just waiting their turn to enraged the fire. Here’s a thought: while suffering on the inside is […]
What makes Christianity endlessly different in this world? The foundation of difference is the question of who is responsible for my salvation. Do we share even the tiniest portion of responsibility for our salvation with the living God? Thinking that we obey anything he tells us to do is to divide the responsibility beyond Christ. […]
Dear Russian leadership: I’m not a historian. I can’t unequivocally say there has never been an army like yours. So I can only understand what I see you doing by equating it with my own life, but I have to say that, even in my own life, I do not see the likeness of your […]
Something to nag at your memory for pondering: I have said that the name of God is far more than saying God. It is everything he has done everything he is doing and everything he will do for eternity. No man can possibly speak that, so he gave us a name we could speak. That […]
sight Sound Taste Smell Emotional Atmospheric Anything can bring association between the now and what was. It’s sudden and it’s strong. Those terrible memories you have about terrible things you have done, why are they the ones who are predominant in such memory recollection? Surely you have a great many pleasant memories. But your appearance […]
What is this spine that I wear on my back? It’s not the one I was born with. This spine is tempered steel .“ I can’t live in a fire to temper my spine!”. What is the strength of it?What does this do that bones cannot? Let’s take a look: Why am I sitting here full […]
Black, gray, white. Monotone, color, light. This world cannot write any story from heaven. It can only speculate, suspicion, imagine, the things of God in Christ. You want to know what’s sad is? All the stories of this world will gather together before the throne of God. They will see the Christ of God and […]
Hello. This is interesting because it hinges on something amazing. We are in a season of much upheaval and while part of the situation is indeed a trial of faith, many aspects are the result of bad decision making and even chastisement. And while we could have done certain things in a way that would have been less perplexing, I have been thanking God for the chastisement. That he is dealing with me as a son and not allowing me to go in my own way. It does lead to reverence and love of God on a deeper level.
Our world is filled with people who seem to have it all togerther; who have more financial reserve than they could ever spend…..and they are headed for hell. As you mention at the end of this post, the loving rebuke of God is far more desirable than the pleasures of this world for a season. In fact, they arent really pleasures. Compared to the peace of God, the offerings of this world feel like……death.
Thanks for touching on this often misunderstood, and yet critical aspect of life as we strive to daily be more like Jesus and less like us.
Blessings always in Jesus name.

What comes to mind is this: “24“But woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort in full. 25“Woe to you who are well-fed now, for you shall be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep. 26“Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for their fathers used to treat the false prophets in the same way.” (Luke 6)
How I yearn to see a contrite heart in every man I meet. I beg all men to consider the ways of the Holy God of all life. Now is the time to encounter Him. When we see Him in His fullness, we will be locked in what we have allowed Him to cause us to be here.
Thank you Tim. My prayers this morning were filled with truth regarding who I am opposed to who I should be at this place in my life. Though it is somewhat painful to give an accounting of myself as I find things to be, it will be far more painful for those who have hated His ways to give account of themselves without opportunity for change or renewal.
What this tells me is, “BE READY”! Give all you can, Paul. I can see how I will regret anything I’ve held back.
Oh Lord! God of heaven and earth, please provoke Your servants to yield to Your Righteous ways! By Your Holy Grace.
