Freedom

In Christ we are blameless.  Who can lay a charge against us?  Though man may have right to lay a charge, for the sake of the things of man, it is to God they must inevitably go for their justice.

Though God’s people are often worthy of condemnation, it is Christ Himself who justifies.

Where then is what man calls freedom?  He only desires to do his own will.  And where is the so-called justice of man?  God alone judges with purity, Holy righteousness, and eternal knowledge.

But let all men come and taste the freedom of Christ Jesus!  Only then does a man begin to understand the fullness of the word.  Abandon your selfish desire and live free.

Freedom is not designed to enjoy the things that rot.  The concept of freedom is eternal at its base.  True freedom is found solely in Christ Jesus; the Son of God and the Son of Man.

This freedom in Christ remains!  From the accusations of men, to even horrific beheading by ungodly religion, those in Christ are utterly free!  At whatever point they think us bound, they are wrong.

Nothing but God will last forever.  So the freedom of those in Christ is not bound.   Not even by the law of man.  Men die, or change their law according to their desire.  But as a man lives in Christ he is truly free!

Enduring Consistency

“Raw raw sis boom ba!
I belong! I belong!”

The proper exaltation for one who formerly was cast out.  It is not proper that this one should hate the inclusion.  But does that joy last?

The beaming smile of a young man as he gets his first car.  “I’m free!  I can go where I please!  Finally, I am a man!”  Not really, but don’t tell him yet.

Which is stronger, inclusion or the responsibilities that will surely come?

The joy of a child is dear, and held in high esteem by all who are mature.  If this is not so, then someone needs to explain to me why grandmas talk about babies incessantly.

The beaming smile of a middle aged woman; her face constantly glowing.  Though trials, terrors and difficulties have strewn across her path, she endures with excellent consistency.

Such things are even marketable among men.  “There’s a lot of money in that there attitude.”   (properly voiced with cigar in mouth and scowl on face)

But wrongful pride in a young girl, who has been granted inclusion, is ugly.  And the rebellion of a young man stacks up in the courts of the land.  Our joy in them is dashed.

And the beaming face of a middle aged woman, which is only apparent by means of cosmetic surgery, is no beauty at all; the cheap imitation of truth.  Kinda like some knock off version of Kool Aid; sour to the taste and despised by all.  “Back to the real stuff we go!”

If Christian joy is not sincere, it cannot be joy at all.  that special kind of hypocrisy that non-believers post prominently in neon signs.

We read the accounts of those who sang with boldness at the prospect torture and death.  No fictitious apparel can produce that kind of joy.  No provisional joy will endure in those circumstances.  “Ya either got it or you don’t.”

How do the exceptional remain exceptional?  How is it that they have kept their joy pure; unadulterated by pride and difficulty?

We find the answer in their perception.  The answer lay squarely in their expectations.  Those who endure to the end do not consider themselves as belonging because of any special trait they own.  They keep first in mind that they are included in something vastly larger and more desirable than themselves.

The young girl becomes the appealing woman mentioned above.  And the young man contributes greatly to the society that granted him his beloved freedom.  And the division between beauty and ridiculously ugly glares brilliantly.

With this answer something astounding appears.  Correction in our attitude is simply a matter of changing perspective.  “Becoming” is only a matter of being willing to understand the value of our place.  And never to allow that understanding to dissipate, or to become poluted with pride.

The engine of truth is relentless.  It drives through humanity without respect to the desires of any.  A man will either jump on board or get squished.

But if we embrace truth we retain the things that are beautiful.  We “become”.  We desire.  We learn to “do” with excellent consistency.

___________

Please don’t allow stupidity to interpret this message.  This is not a “how to” message.  It is not the preface to an impossibly thick manual on “becoming”.  It is more like a directional sign.  “Caution detour ahead”.

The true answer for any man is within him.  It is God Himself who directs.  If we don’t point to him, then we join with liars.

“If the Lord does not build the house the builder builds in vain.”  If you want to be excellent, you have to go get it from him.  Therefore this message is far more a description than a “How to”.

If that disappoints you, then you’re the very reason I wrote this.

A Letter From the Least

Do not mistake the following lines for condemnation.  They are a confession of love from a man who knows God.

I know who you are, my brothers and sisters of flesh, you wicked and adulteress people of this place of testing.  I see what you do.  I know the things you love, and that what you love is unholy.

I know that many of you will die in disrepair.  Even now you complain that life is cut short.  I know that even now through silence you complain against the Holy One.  You turn to sin as if it produces tranquility.  You turn to the pleasure of sin that you may relieve your anxious heart.  I know that you offend one another for the hatred that lives in your bones.  And you glory in a strength that leads to death.

But I do not condemn you.  I do not judge you, for I have done the same things.  By my own actions I know who you are.  Because he has shown me my sins I know what sin is.  Therefore I look at you with eyes that know.

But I do not judge for the sake of condemnation.  I rightly assess because I have been caused to see rightly.  By the work of Christ within me I have come to understand the difference between righteousness and the folly of man.  And I know that with one touch of his hand you too can see.

So I stand here and plead with you.  Go to the Father and receive the peace of his Son.  The throne of God is wide open to those who have the courage of faith to approach.

This very day is that day of opportunity.  There are two days in which the door of opportunity will be slammed shut.  Which will come first, who can tell.  But one day is your own death.  The other day is when the Father sends his Son to put an end to salvation in this place of testing.

The joy of knowing the Sovereign God through Jesus His holy son is more than a man can speak in full.  So I spoke to you first of the sin that I know dresses you in a black cloth.  Then I spoke to you of open forgiveness from this man.  Finally I gave you the words of eternal peace.

I have written this that you may live.  Consider, if he has touched me so that I might forgive, how much more power does he hold in his hand for you?

I am the least of his people.  Yet the strength of his love lives within me.  Many who now living in sin are greater than I.  How much greater can these be if they receive the love of God?

By His grace I have written.  By His grace, what I have written is true.  By that same grace life stands ready to embrace you.  All that is necessary is that your humble yourself and pray.

Pray with ernest heart.  Pour out what you know to be true.  Confess your sins and beg for life.   Do not cease and you will receive.  The kingdom of heaven is not given to those who are not earnest.  But salvation belongs to the weak who will call out in truth.

God is faultless.  His ways are pure and Holy.  He has sent his Son as a seal of his desire to save.  This is a promise he has made and sealed with the very blood of his own Holy Son.  It is impossible for God to lie.  Yet who will believe?

Adorable Dispair, Abject Fear

I’ve observed that the world adores despair.  They would certainly tell you differently.  But nearly everything created by man is in response to despair.  We live in a defensive mode all our lives.   Thus the reason for all man’s “advancements”.

I don’t think they would know what to do with true freedom from fear.  I saw a woman sitting in a small restaurant by herself this morning.  All the while she sat there she was absorbed in her cell phone.  In days past she would have been seen sitting there with nothing to do.  Perhaps she would read a book.  Maybe, just maybe, she would interact with others who were sitting there.  But our need for freedom from despair and fear has brought us to a place where we strive with all our being to escape.  Horror fills every moment we live without God.

God offers escape from fear.  But they won’t take that because they don’t respect God’s Holy Son.  And you can’t have God by rejecting His Son.   Even if they consider Jesus, the Son of God, they might end up dismissing God because of the heavy load of eternal law.  But full freedom embraces the reality of God’s eternal law and the offer of “learning” which comes from Jesus.

God the Father is perfect eternal law.  He must be pure of anything else in order to keep eternity intact.  That’s why nothing wicked or evil will ever enter the presence of the Most High God.  The laws of God are not done away with in Christianity.  We are instead entered into a friendship because of the Work of God the Father in His Holy Son.  He is our “go-between” or buffer between God the Father and our wicked up bringing.  It’s the Father’s will that we should learn the eternal laws of God.

Nothing I’ve said here will help the world cope with despair.  They’re doing pretty good in that realm anyway.  But these things are posted in the hope that some will filter into those who need to find release from fear.  I encourage those folk to look into these things.  You’ll find all this and plenty more in the Bible.  (I know, its been a very long time since you opened one.)

May the Lord open your eyes and draw you to His Holy Son.  May you find the release you aren’t seeking now.

Constraints Enslave

From our freedom in Christ we are able to speak more freely of the Gospel than those who are constrained by rules of religion.  This was so for the Lord, as he lashed out at the money changers in the temple.  It is so for all who seek the freedom Jesus offers.

Setting apart from the established folly of man means we will not be allowed certain fellowship.  Our hearts will not allow such fellowship without encountering loss, for the Spirit will convict as truth demands.  But the freedom we are given in this purposeful isolation is more precious than all possible friendships of man.  We are promised friendship with the Lord of Peace.  And a knowledge of eternity quickly follows behind.

Let men desire what they will.  They develop their religions by the senses and reason of man.  But the Lord sets us free, by degree, from the necessity of obedience to their regulation.  As the Lord is free from the constrains of fleshly rule, so we are being called to come apart.  Therefore, let His wisdom come home.  Let His power in Grace find a place to eat and sleep in our house.  As often as we entertain the Christ as Lord, we learn to be free.  Likewise, as we succumb to the rule of man, we learn to become enslaved.

If this post is not clear, I apologize.  It is not meant to be a hidden line of thought.  Ask and I will strive to explain.  What I have said here is useful to all who would be free from the constraints of this world.

What are you doing? It’s never too late.

Freedom

Freedom (Photo credit: cheesy42)

You can only wear what we tell you.  If you dress differently you will be punished.

You can only say what is appropriate.  Inside those words is freedom.

We lay down the construct for social acceptance.  Those who live within it are free to live.  Those who do not live with in our social construct will find themselves persecuted, ridiculed, marginalized, and in the end, destroyed.

This is what the world says by all the things it expects from its citizens.  The great majority obey.  But there are a few who would rather die than submit.

I speak of those people who live under the construct of Eternity.  They recognize that the body is nothing.  It is as if the plastic wrap with which we keep our sandwiches.  It is like the cloud which brings the rain.  Once the rain has fallen, no one cares about the cloud.

Wake up and look about you.    Are you really free to live your life?   Or have you given them authority over everything you are?

To break free is extremely expensive.  No man can do it alone, for no man can afford it.  But when a man tries in the name of Christ Jesus he will find success.  You can be free to live.   You do not need to obey the world.
